I decided to go last night and it felt like it was my first time ever working out. I took my time on the wod and still finished before a few others. I was expecting to be dead last because I was going so slow and resting a lot. This for sure told me that my body is fighting this cold. I may feel OK my trying to exert energy was so so rough. People kept asking if I was OK because I was a sad zombie-like person I guess. I wasn't my normal self.

We all have sad CF stories today.
Today was my dream WOD (I posted above) and I just felt... off. I had four spectacular fails at cleaning 210 and some great videos to analyze, but there is no reason I didn't get that weight. Bench press was okay... then OHS I went for a new PR at 215 and couldn't get the bar locked out over my head to even start. So more failing. Oh well-it's part of the journey and I got a ton of heavy volume in, which is really more valuable, but I was really hoping for some PRs before my bump gets much bigger.

Well with 215 I can do...oh wait, nothing Usually with heavy cleans or squats that some of the guys do I'm like "hmm, the only thing I can do with that barbell is deadlift it once or twice," but 215 has me beat! Sorry your workout wasn't what you were hoping for though, stackingtens. And take it easy, itsme!
Today we did an EMOM of power cleans (12-15 every odd minute) and box jumps (15 every even minute). I kept the cleans super light at 25 kg and still could only get in 13 or 14 box jumps because my legs were tired, probably from the other day that I did them, and when my legs get heavy I worry that I'm going to fail and take a chunk out of my shins again. I felt good though, aside from that limitation.

It's all I'm good for! Probably disproportionately my best lift, for whatever reason. But the likelihood that I will ever get a muscle up is slim, KWIM? Hence why I want to take up powerlifting/weightlifting more competitively post-baby. I love CF (obviously, I coach it) but I really love coaching barbell and I will likely only ever be so good at CF. I'm almost 6'0" tall and my engine is... small. Haha.
stackingtens you are amazing! I consider barbell stuff to be my strength, but the weights you are talking about are in a whole other league then I can even imagine.
I'm sorry so many of you have had a tough week. I feel like for the last two months I've just been slogging along not making much progress, so I know the feeling.
For me, this week has been pretty awesome though. Yesterday we did Grace. I RX'ed for the first time last November in 4:46, so I had a time to beat. I wasn't really paying attention to the clock and my coach started counting down when I had about 5 reps left so I thought I wasn't going to beat my old time. He was actually counting down to 4 minutes, I did it in 3:57!!!! Then today was record board Friday, I did a 7:29 mile, which I know for some of you probably isn't fast, but I never in my wildest dreams thought I could run a sub 8 minute mile. Then I deadlifted 275!

Grace is the greatest WOD ever! Nice work on the PR. ANd that's a legit deadlift, esp. after running. I think the only time I've run a sub-8 min mile was... maybe in middle school? No idea. Nice job!
Do you have any access to CF friendly physios? I found them to be helpful with my knee pain - essentially my patella wasn't tracking properly because I was over developing my quads and my posterior chain was week. Our box's physio gave me some accessory work to help strengthen my stabilizing muscles that were being under utilized when my quads would just 'take over', hence my patella not tracking, hence the inflammation, hence the pain. Not sure if this is what could help you but sometimes finding a specialist who ISN'T anti CF can help. Lord knows the movements done in CF are specialized to CF...they are done elsewhere in other sports too...

My chiro did recommend a PT/Chiro who does a lot of ART and trigger therapy. And my chiro also started working on some trigger points deep in my quad. HOLY HELL what a difference. I was able to squat today not with a lot of weight but I could move. And I can walk up and down the stairs without hobbling on one foot. So YAY for my chiro! I love her!

Does anyone have someone from their box doing the masters qualifiers? We have one guy who is in the top 25 going into the qualifiers in his age division. Just curious....

We do not, but I told my coach (who is over 40) that he should do all the workouts next week. I even offered to do them with him - well, the 55-59 versions because I can't do the younger versions Strangely enough, he does not seem to think this sounds as fun as I do, haha.

Yep! We have one. He has to WOD tonight.
Our guy did his 1RM snatch today. 22# PR. Go bill!!
Blech. I got almost 10 hours of sleep and I'm still feeling like garbage in the gym. I also felt like I forgot how to lift today, so that was an extra special treat.
