Anyone with curly hair try this? Dds hair is super curly and just a pain in the ass. Lol. We get in a vicious cycle of her hair becoming a knotted mess then becoming a frizzy mess when we brush out her curls to get the knots out.its gotten somewhat better since we started using coconut oil conditioner but it definitely could be better.
With Ns hair (which is super curly on the bottom, but just wavy on top is just spray with water after I brush it and then fluff/scrunch it back to its curly state.
I never brush my dry hair when its curly (and I always use a wide tooth pick when its wet) but I use products in it to keep it curly/not frizzy that make it impossible to brush out

Per my hairdresser with curly hair she told me to not wash every day, only detangle when wet with that wet hair brush and we use leave in conditioner. It still ends up a tangled mess the next morning. Drives me mad! I wet her hair to get the curls out as well as leave in conditioner in but it will frizzed/poufs/straightens in spots afterwards that looks so weird.
Both of my kids have tons of really tight, curls. My hair used to be like theirs but has relaxed a bit. I don't use shampoo on either of them unless they get something icky in their hair. We use Shea moisture conditioner. I use my fingers to untangle and finger tips to scrub their hair when they bathe. Dd's is a bit longer so sometimes I have to comb it but not often. Brushing curly hair just makes it frizzy and poofy. Definitely don't brush. Use a pick or a comb. Also comb from the bottom up. It doesn't hurt nearly as bad and tangles come out better.

I've tried doing conditioner only but her hair gets greasy looking and weighed down. I've tried combs but they seem to take forever and dd won't sit still for long enough to let me get them out even when bribed with iPad time. Chasing her with a brush for the knots is my only option lol. I'm hoping the curly girl method will help avoid the knotting. One can dream!
