Rainbows are the only way to go. I can't PIP at the moment.
Here you go - I bought my H a pair at Christmas and he doesn't love them which bums me out - I have heard great thing about them. I have been wearing the same pair of FitFlops for like 6 years now and they don't even sell the style I have any more.

I always go to, like, Charlotte Russe and pick up a couple of pairs with patent straps each summer. I don't care about being comfortable, I wanna be CUTE!
I used to have THE BEST pair of Reef flip flops that were not ugly. Thin leather band with the perfectly squishy yet supportive soles. I wore them daily for years until I wore a hole through the heel. So sad.
Closest I have come to comfort and not completely hideous have been some plain Sanuks that I can't find a picture of. I've had them for several years and wear them a lot.
I've had them since my first wedding on the beach in 2008 or 2009 (I can't ever remember which year) and they're still going strong. I freaking love them.
Fancy Rainbows!
I love my Rainbows, too. They took a little while to break in, so I didn't wear them very often. I thought my ON or Payless ones were at least comparable, if not better. Once they were broken in, I realized I was very, very wrong!
I like these for more extensive walking and especially for travel. They are strong and rugged but still feminine because of the narrow strap. I don't like the regular thick strap. It's ugly to me.
Havaiana Top (I have these in shocking pink, marine blue, pistachio, yellow, dark khaki, and brown/pink plaid) Havaiana Brazil (I have these in black and in amazonia green)
I got all of these when I went to Brazil. They cost just $5 to $7 at supermarkets and drugstores there! There's no way I'd ever pay U.S. rates for these. I like these best for poolside, beach, or other wet areas. The rubber is durable and well-suited for such use. They are fine for just running errands, too, but I generally prefer wearing my more comfortable Sanuks around town (unless I happen to be wearing an outfit that matches my colorful Tops perfectly). My brown/pink plaid ones are my clean indoor house shoes that never go outside.
Finally, I have one pair of Old Navy Classic Flip-Flops that my friend gave to guests on the dance floor at her wedding.
These live in my car, so I'm always ready for a pedicure.
Re your question about replacing rubber flip-flops, I have yet to have a need to replace. But I have so many flip-flops that they won't get worn out quickly.
I love my good ole nikes. I used to love Pacific Reef as they had cushy soles and wide fabric thongs, but add that fabric bottom to wet tile or wet anything for that matter, and I seriously can't get traction... I have to hold on to someone's arm. It's redic lol I have at least 20 pairs of flip flops
I prefer to wear Havaianas for rubber ones. I've never really had a pair wear out because I have a couple pairs and rotate them.
I just got these at the Rack for $13
And a few other pairs where I have photos.
I like the patterns. I prefer the slim straps and they are comfortable. Most of mine are from the Rack. They have a huge selection and they are discounted nicely.

He has to break them in! Then they become yours and you can totally tell when you accidentally put someone else's on. They frpm to your foot so nicely. They are a bit tight and stiff at first
I have both and I always go for my thick straps but I think my thin straps just aren't broken in enough yet (because I always grab my thick straps first) Part of the problem is that (at least up until the last time I bough new ones a few years ago) the thick are the mens and much wider than the thin so they fit me better.
I really want to get a pair of thin straps with the braid!
The slaps are for when I want essentially sneaker level support. The rapids are incredibly thin but supportive and those are my everyday. I've had both kinds for years with constant use.
Kinos. They are handmade leather that you can only buy in Key West or there website. I love them and want but anything else. The best part is the are only $15.
