Thanks to the UPP pricing policies, I am paying twice what I paid last year for my Acuvue Oasys . My dr wanted me to switch to dailies and I told him I can't really afford it.
Anyway, I just went to order and was doing some research and found a cash back site that will give you 15% cash back on lenses. They have 5 or 6 sites you can choose to buy through and one of them is VisionDirect who I normally use and Walgreens is on there too along with some others that I wasn't as familiar with.
Disclaimer: I get a referral bonus on that link, but you don't have to use it. Just save some $. The best Ebates I could find on a contact lens site was 10% for Coastal Contacts (I think?). And I think Costco at one point was offering a gift card, but not sure if that is still going on and what the $$ amount was.
Anyway, hope it helps someone. I am going to talk to my optometrist about switching to a Cooper Vision brand next year b/c (as of now) they don't do the UPP. I get that to some degree the idea was to keep the prices consistent so optometrists could compete against mega stores, but my contact rx is really high and my dr doesn't keep an annual supply in stock so I am still ordering online anyway so I don't have to make a return trip to his office.
I am in Dailies and I can't go back to longer wear because they irritate my eyes. It sucks because they are really expensive. If you have an HSA (and I think FSA but I am not sure) you can use that to pay. I have also had luck getting my eye doctor to match costco pricing and buying a few months at a time. If I can do at least six months I can also usually get a manufacturer rebate. I will check this out too. Thanks!
I always bought my Acuvue Oasys from Vision Direct but now they can't offer discounts and they were so expensive. So I switched to Cooper Vision and bought them with ebates and a coupon and a hefty discount!
What pricing are you guys paying? I wear Acuvue Oasys too and just paid 68 per box at Walmart ( I know, I know). But, Acuvue changed the boxes which now hold 12 contacts not 6 or 8 hence the price difference. But, for the life of me I can't remember what I paid a couple of years ago. I just remember seeing a post on here that the prices were going up.

The boxes this year are twice the size of last year. I had the same surprise when reordering Acuvues this year (and only ordered 2 boxes) and was pleasantly surprised when they arrived.
eta: I see this was mentioned in the post above this one. Derp!
Now I'm wondering if my eye doctor's office screwed something up, because I only paid $31 for 6 months of my Acuvue Oasys contacts, and we have VSP for eye insurance, which is not the greatest.

I order the gigantic boxes (24 contacts each). It is $220 for an annual supply. The boxes that you have are $67.50 each at other sites as well so you don't have to use Walmart if you don't want to

What are the lenses that you use from Cooper Vision? I want to switch but I need to try them first. I have a relatively high rx (-7.5) and have been wearing Acuvue contacts since I was 12 years old. I recently had GPC and I don't want to do anything to irritate my eyes!

I wear the Avaira lens and found the transition pretty seamless. They are thinner.
Yeah, I was so horrified by the increase in price when the UPP policy went into effect (price almost doubled) that I ended up finally taking the plunge and getting LASIK - and I love it!! I see better now than I ever did with contacts, and it is so much more convenient. I calculated that I'll break even sometime between 4 and 5 years out. So I guess I should really thank the contact companies for finally pushing me to get it done

Okay thanks The one thing I liked was that I could buy the contacts right on site which was soooo much easier than ordering online, for me. But, I don't really adhere to the 'normal' contact usage and wear them longer than I should :-#.
I will say that my DD has an eye issue and required glasses. I immediately was looking at glasses after the appointment in their 'eye wear' department and the frames were 200 plus. We happened to be at walmart and they had an entire set of Ninja Turtle glasses, which she loves, and with the frames and lenses it was 19 dollars. My vision insurance paid like 40 dollars, but they were really amazing, which KILLS me inside to say.
Thanks @ready07. I'm not due for more contacts yet, but I saved the link. I wear the acuvue oasis dailies (for a few years now) and I like them better than the 2 week disposables. BF switched over to dailies too (his are even pricier for astigmatism). I'm a terrible contact wearer--I overwear them A LOT. I usually order from lensmart and they're listed there too!
