Well I will be there at the same time as we're taking the train in on Tuesday Why the heck are you flying when you can get on the train?
I agree with v on La Grande Epicerie & Le Bon Marche. I'm looking at an Alexander McQueen bag but I don't know where to find it in Paris because there's no McQueen store and it wasn't on the Le Bon Marche website.
My favorite museum is Musee D'Orsay. My favorite thing to do is drink wine at cafes though.
This site is awesome for itineraries. Once you have some ideas of where you are going, it can be useful to plug it in and it will organize it to help maximize your time!

Ha, maybe I'll just third wheel it with you and Mr. Cheezer
I want the miles and I'm not paying so...
You are welcome to join us if you'd like. We do not know what is on our agenda yet as work is currently kicking my ass. I do know we will be lunching in Saint Germain near our hotel and our Eurostar gets in at noon.
Have you been to the Notre Dame? That was one of my favorite parts of Paris. Such a neat, beautiful place.
I didn't spend enough time there to be of any help on getting around and eating, sorry! I just ate some random sandwiches/crepes/macarons along the way, all of which were wonderful but nothing out of the ordinary for the area.
Hang out for a leisurely lunch & wine here: www.labrasserie-isl.fr/ I recommend the steak frites & a bottle of Georges Deboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau (or a glass if you aren't feeling as ambitious)
Then, wander over to Berthillon right down the street & pray they have the salted caramel that day.
If the weather's nice, I always do a ride on the batobus because seeing the city from the river = the best. Good way to help digest the food & wine.
Hee hee, what can I say, the devil's in the details If you haven't been to Notre Dame, stop there first before going to Brasserie (since they are literally right next to each other on the little islands in the middle of the seine. Done!
@buckybells, this is embarrassing but I can't remember if we went to Notre Dame on my first trip to Paris. I do love looking at old churches though. Walking into St. Paul's Cathedral in Vatican City was literally a jaw-dropping moment for me.
I find this funny too because I can't remember if I went in St. Paul's Cathedral I assume so?
Definitely swing by the Notre Dame if you get a chance, then! It's such a cool place - and SO big. We just walked around inside so depending on your preferences I don't even think it would take that long. You can climb to the top and see the gargoyles up close (apparently) but I didn't do that.
Have you been to the Musee D'Orsay? It is my favorite! That and Pierre Marcolini chocolates.
Nope. I don't think I want to spend the few hours I have in an art museum though. Don't get me wrong, normally I'd definitely check it out but with only maybe six hours to play with I think I'd rather find something else to do than look at paintings.
Blah.....but maybe that is where we should go for our girls' weekend then!
If you like old churches and haven't done it before, also check out Sainte Chapelle. It's not too far of a walk from Notre Dame.
I might have gotten really, really upset when they closed the line when it was our turn to go in to Sainte Chapelle. I need to go back and head there first.
I really like Saint Chapelle. I'd probably do Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle, a walk along the Seine, walk over to St. Germain, and have some champagne. It's not like you won't be back! I have a friend who would take day trips to Paris from London.
Oh yeah. Do the catacombs if you can, but the line can be realllllly long, so you would need to get there right away to avoid that taking up the majority of your day.

yup. We stood in line for like 2 hours. But H would go get food while we waited.

For an extra $10 or so we paid some random tour guide to take us to the front. I was worried it was a scam at first since he just gave us a sticker to signify that were with him, but it was totally legit. The line was insane.
Sainte Chapelle is one of my favorite places to visit in Paris. Sacre Coeur is a great area to wander and people watch. I also enjoyed picking up a snack and picnicking near the Eiffel Tower
