For those of you who are required to wear an ID badge for work, how do you wear it? Lanyard, clip-on badge, magnetic badge? Is there any possible way to still look cute while wearing an ID badge?

We have options for magnet, clip on, or lanyard. Since our badge is also needed to open doors the magnet option doesn't work very well. The clip on device and lanyards have a retractable cord.
I haven't found a cute way to wear mine. Our lanyards have to be break-away for safety reasons, so we can't attach our badges to a cute necklace or similar. I gave up on it a long time ago.
I have a carabiner with a key ring that holds my keys, work badge, and a USB thumb drive. I clip it to a belt loop. You can clip it to a bag (gym bag, purse, whatever) if you always carry one.
I use a retractable clip. 90% of the time it's clipped to something near my waist. If I'm wearing a dress without a blazer, then I wear an ugly lanyard.
I don't have to wear mine but I do have to bring it with me when I leave the office or go to the bathroom (approximately every five minutes, in my case*). Mine is in a clear holder on a clip-on right now, but if I could find my cute metallic ID holder I would go back to that. I carry it in my hand or put it in a pocket. It sits on my desk when I'm at my desk
But if you have to actually wear it -- no, there's no cute way to do that, really, but it is also generally inoffensive to just wear it in whatever way the company-issued dohickey has you wear it. Safety in numbers! You'll only look goofy if you continue to wear it when you leave the premises.
Mine is on a lanyard but I don't have to wear it. I do need it if I leave my building and it gets me i nand out of the parking garage.
When I had to wear one, I preferred the clip-on retractable holder. Wearing it on my waist (I wear pants pretty much all the time) felt the most discreet. I HATE wearing it around my neck.
Work issued lanyard. If we wear a lanyard it must be the work issued one. I had a super nice one I had bought but then they changed the rules and I am stuck with a black lanyard with the company name in yellow which is all peeling off.

I have to wear it about once a month when I visit a different location. I just clip it to my top. I might put in more effort if it was an everyday thing.

I have a ton of these from when I worked for Disney.
I had to wear my ID at my last job and since it was a casual dress environment in a dark room I DGAF what people though of my ID lanyard. I have 10+ with different characters and some seasonal themed ones (snowman stitch, etc)
Clip on badge to the hem on the bottom of my shirt. I work with preschoolers so the lanyard just smacks them in the face when I lean over to talk to them.

I don't have a badge, but I have a nametag that I have to wear when I am on the campus of the schools we serve, so I don't have to sign in at the front office and everyone knows I am supposed to be there and not a kidnapper. I only go to schools 1-2 times a week, so I just wear it on a company lanyard around my neck.
I only need it when I want to enter/leave the building so I don't wear it all day..only when commuting. Well we're supposed to use it to access our computer but that's annoying so until my password doesn't work anymore I'm rebelling.
I don't really care how cute it is, just what's most convenient. I tried the clip but was always worried about losing it. So after trying many different ways, I found that a lanyard was easiest.
I do try to be different than everyone else at least. H got me a lanyard from his work (airlines) so it's different but when I'm flying out, all the airline employees have it and I feel silly with it lol. I keep my train card with it and I usually had there directly after work. I have a BMW lanyard packed away that I plan to use. I definitely won't need my employee ID or train card if I'm going to a BMW event.

A social worker where I am told me once that they prefer people wear it clipped to their collar, so that's what I usually do (on a retractable cord for doors and elevators), which isn't a problem in the winter when I'm wearing sturdier material or a sweater or something, but it always pulls down my neckline on lighter weight blouses. I hate being lopsided all damn summer long.

Issued breakaway lanyard. I stayed with the simple black one - there is a multicolor one with logos. Card has to come out of the holder to open the doors and login to the computer. Then it has a bigger card that goes behind it that IDs employee vs volunteer has the emergency numbers on it.

We are required to wear it around the neck on the provided lanyard. This is so it's easy to distinguish between employees and visitors, who get a different color lanyard.
