So, I'm at my wits end with rugs for this room. I've gotten a million carpet samples. This has been a 2 year project, gung ho for a year. I found this 12x15 Safavieh rug at Home Depot for $650. It's not exactly what I'm looking for, but does it work? I figure if I eventually find something I love I can sell it on FB.
But I don't love it, either. I think it's too close to the floor color and you need something with more contrast.
Disclaimer: I have exactly two area rugs and they're both in the kitchen, so perhaps my taste is questionable.
I agree with this. It's a cute enough rug. No issue with it and it looks fine in the room. It just does nothing for the space all the same. Something about the coloring neither blends, pops or makes anything else look good.

It's liveable though.
I agree with these thoughts. It absolutely works for now. Another cheap option would be to get a natural fiber rug just for now. But well, you'd have to try it because it might look beachy.
