How many naps per day? He still likes to take two.
What are they drinking? Skim Milk and water, our pedi says kids get plenty of fat so whatever we drink is fine.
What are they eating? He likes most things, but he doesn't like lettuce or tomato, avocado, or grapes.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) He can walk, but he's still not confident. He will army crawl but refuses to get up on his knees to crawl
Favorite toys? Trucks and tractors, the Cozy Coupe, his wagon. If it ever warms up, I'm sure he'll love the water table.
Favorite books? Little Blue Truck, Where Do Diggers Sleep at Night, Ten Little Ladybugs, any touch and feel books
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? He's so much fun, he loves to point to things to tell you what he wants. He doesn't have any words yet that he says but he can identify a lot of things if you ask him, he'll point to it. My least favorite part is that he is a little behind and I struggle trying not to compare him to other kids, so this check in is a fail on my part. I like doing these because sometimes I get ideas of things I haven't tried yet.
Plans for more kids? We want one more, I think a bigger age gap will be good for us. However, ABX and the pill and my forgetfulness might put them closer in age, whoops. This potential scare is pushing me toward an IUD and helping me realize a bigger gap is definitely what I want. Stay tuned, lol.
What is their bday? Feb 21. She just turned 14 months
How many naps per day? Usually one, sometimes zero. LOL
What are they drinking? Water, and I'm still BF. I offer WCM a few times a week but she never drinks it.
What are they eating? She is always served whatever we are eating + a fruit, but her favorite foods are strawberries, cheese, yogurt, eggs, black beans, goldfish, veggie straws. She gets a pouch as a snack if I take her running in the stroller or out on a boring errand.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) Running and walking
Favorite toys? Stacking box tower, shape sorter, mini soccer ball
Favorite books? Hello Ninja, Ten Little Ladybugs, Noisy Farm
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? Favorite - she is SO DAMN CUTE. I just stare at her sometimes and I love hearing her little voice. Least favorite - she is exhausting in public, especially out to eat, etc. She wants to RUN AROUND everywhere. I spend so much time chasing her.
Plans for more kids? Yes, we are TTC #2. I think we'll be done with 2.
How many naps per day? 1, unless they also cat nap in the stoller when out for their morning walk
What are they drinking? Nursing and water. attempting almond and coconut milk too but they won't take more than a sip or two
What athey eating? everything. See the other post about what your 1yo is eating lol
How do they get around? Crawling. K prefers to walk around on her kneE's actually. No walking yet. J didn't walk until 16.5 mos so I think I just have late walkers. H was also a late walker.
Favorite toys? little people princess horse thing we got for their birthday, toy vacuum, duplos, and tea set/play food. This is very influenced by what J plays. They want to model him and be like him lol. By far the favorite for all is tea party. We have 3 tea sets, two fp laugh and learn and a melissa and doug set. All 3 love stirring in milk and sugar and drinking tea, eating cookies and offering it to eachother and us.
Favorite books? goodnight gorilla!! Every night we read 4 books before bed. I always save it for last. We read books on J's bed together and oftentimes one or two of the kids is flopping around and not paying attention. But as soon as I pull out goodnight gorilla they all stop and pay atTention.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? favorite is watching their personalities develop and communication growing. Least favorite for me is this is when we transition to crib sleeping and it sucks.
Plans for more kids? nope, 3 is enough for us.
Can I ask another question? I'm struggling right now because the girls don't have any spoken words other than mama occasionally. They both sign more and to nurse. They understand a ton. For example, I can say, go in your brother's room to read books and they will go from their room to his. Or I can ask, do you want to go for a walk? And they will go to where their coat is and the door etc. so it's just verbal not comprehension part Im worrying about.
J was much more vocal and I know ahead communication wise at this age and still is so I'm trying not to compare. But I also know that twins often have communication delays and they don't know why exactly so I'm not sure if that is it. I discussed this with J's ei people and they confirmed the twin thing but I'm not sure if I should have them evaluated or not. kershnic where are your girls in terms of communication?
@awinter, I just have one, but he does exactly what you described in terms of communication. I don't think he's even said Mama to be honest. We are in an EI tracking program (where we will out monthly surveys on his behavior) and based on the survey he seems behind. I plan to bring it up at his 15 month appointment, but I don't think it's abnormal at this point, just a little delayed. I keep telling myself there is a range of normal and someone has to make up the lower end of the range. I think as long as they have the comprehension, that is a good thing.
Yay - I wanted to do one of these when others were posting them last week
What is their bday? February 2014
How many naps per day? Just 1, usually about an hour and thirty minutes
What are they drinking? WCM, Water, a little OJ in the morning (he LOVES it), and still nursing quite a bit
What are they eating? Whatever I can get him to eat (we feed him what we eat). Lots of dairy, brussel sprouts & broccoli, cheese, breakfast sausage, berries, beans, red pepper hummus, snack foods & pouches.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) Mostly walking though he still crawls once in a while inside and tends to crawl outside b/c of uneven ground. Hasn't gotten used to shoes yet.
Favorite toys? vtech smart animals (panda), Balls, small cars/trucks, our dog, anything that's not a toy (particularly soda cans)
Favorite books? Little Blue Truck, Duck & Goose Find a Pumpkin, Trucks, Doggies
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? Still not a great eater and the occasional tantrum. He's also tall enough to reach door knobs and is close to turning them. Favorite are the hugs & kisses - OMG I melt. I love the more complex emotions & tasks and understanding. I really love this age.
Plans for more kids? We're TTC #2 next weekend (!!!!)

What is their bday? 1/29
How many naps per day? Two very long ones at home. None or one at daycare.
What are they drinking? Whole milk and water. He was weaned 1 month ago and has no problem with whatever I give him.
What are they eating? He's doing the typical toddler 'changes his mind every day thing'. I thought any kind of bread, bananas, and cheese were definite favorites. But he has been randomly refusing those lately too. He does have an ear infection and teeth coming in, so I'm sure it's all related. Broccoli and sweet potato are usually hits if he's in the right mood.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) He's walking but still crawls when he wants to go faster. He falls a LOT. Partly because I think he's trying to figure out how to run.
Favorite toys? Bubble mower and his trike for outside. Otherwise he isn't really attached to anything. Anything that makes music is a hit though.
Favorite books? Good Night Maryland right now. We're not sure why, he just keeps bringing it to us but doesn't want us to actually read it to him. And he Loves the children in Brown Bear Brown Bear.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? Favorite- the tantrums have died down right now so I love how he's so happy most of the time. He actually gives me hugs occasionally now, and he's never been very affectionate. So that's really cool!
Least favorite- the food struggles. Some days he just doesn't want to eat anything and yells at us from the high chair while we eat. Or begs for our food but won't actually eat it when we give him some
Plans for more kids? Having my IUD removed soon. We're working on buying/selling houses, so we'll actually start trying once that situation is all figured out.
Hey everyone, it's been a while since we've checked in! How is your 12-15 month old doing?
What is their bday? - 1/9/14
How many naps per day? - 1
What are they drinking? - whole milk and water. She gets a bottle of milk and nap and bedtime and a sippy at breakfast. Water in straw during meals and through the day.
What are they eating? - pretty much everything. She goes through weeks of random pickiness but in general it's easy. I haven't offered in a while, but she's never been willing to try shrimp. She also just discovered pouches. Ha.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) - walking and running
Favorite toys? - books, silk scarves, and stuffed animals.
Favorite books? - Pop up and lift the flap books. Anything with animals so she can make the noises.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? - favorite: her talking and repeating everything we say. She's super lovey and kissy too. Least: tantrums. Oh the tantrums.
Plans for more kids? - not for a while. DH is going back to school FT and will be unemployed for a couple of years. I only work PT and we cannot afford another right now. We'll prob start trying as he's wrapping up school or finds a job. There will prob be about 4 yrs between the kids.
What are they eating? Table foods. She is starting to find things she isn't a fan of but will usually take a bite or two. I hope her love of all the food continues.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) Walking with a little running here and there.
Favorite toys? Balls or books
Favorite books? ALL the books. She loves to read, turn pages, have us read to her.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? Least: Since her vocabulary is limited she screeches for things right now. Also, we have been trying to transition her to the crib without doing CIO. Favorite: That she is mobile and likes to show affection to H and me. When she talks it is the cutest voice. I still love watching her learn new things.
Plans for more kids? H is ready now. I would probably SAH if we had 2 but I am still unsure. I told him to give me a few months, I'm very content with 1 and don't feel anything is missing.
Born 1/13/14, 15.5 months One nap a day, usually 12:30-1:30. Wish it was longer, but he usually sleeps 12-13 hours, so I guess I can't complain. Drinks mostly water and milk. I think they sometimes give him juice at daycare. He's a pretty good eater, not to fond of ground beef. Loves chicken and bananas. Loses his shit when he sees a pouch. Also loves cheese sticks, likes to pull them out of the fridge and beg for them to be opened. He's walking 95% of the time. He loves toys he can bang around. Likes getting and and out of the cozy coupe and putting things in other things. Not to fond of books :/ I hate the random mood swings, where he's happy one minute and then just randomly flips his shit. So tiring. More kids are in the cards, just not sure when. I would like to start trying in July, but we'll probably have to wait a year due to money and life just being up in the air.
What are they eating? everything? lol. he hasn't met anything he hates, and he mostly eats what we eat.
How do they get around? crawling. no walking yet. late bloomer over here, apparently.
Favorite toys? things that make noise, his doll (which is adorable and kind of terrifying in how he treats it)
Favorite books? little blue truck, any llama llama, any sandra boynton, really anything with a good rhyme
favourite - his independence, he's sleeping well, he's developing a real personality and sense of humour. it melts my heart.
least favourite - he's always been on the longer end for development, and he's a tall baby so people think he's older than he is. dealing with all the "he's not walking yet?! he's nearly 2!" comments are annoying. actually he's not even 14 months so we have quite some time before it's concerning. thankyouverymuch.
Plans for more kids? solid plans, no. hypothetical future plans, sure. right now i'm struggling between wanting to be done with one and this idea that we'll have a second just because. because it's sort of expected by society, because we've always thought we'd have two. i keep reminding myself that we don't have to decide TODAY and that it is absolutely okay to be done if we choose.
Hey everyone, it's been a while since we've checked in! How is your 12-15 month old doing?
What is their bday?
Jan 2014
How many naps per day?
Just 1, usually about 2 hours
What are they drinking?
WCM at meals and snacks, and water available all other times.
What are they eating?
Depends on the day. Sometimes everything, some days nothing. But she loves cheese, and is pretty good about peas and carrots.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc)
She's running! Can't keep her still.
Favorite toys?
She has a stuffed wolf that she adores. She also loves her pop up tent.
Favorite books?
Any that she can throw. She doesn't really sit still long enough to "get" books.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age?
The "I want it now" mentality.
Plans for more kids?
We talking about TTC soon. And we have an appointment with the RE. But now I'm wavering since I'm not sure if I'm quite ready to start my (probably) last pregnancy yet.
What are they eating? Everything we eat. There isnt anything he's refusing right now. I'm taking full advantage of this.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) Super fast crawling. He walks if someone is holding his hand. It used to be with two hands - he's getting more confident.
Favorite toys? The ball pit. All music toys - drums, bells
Favorite books? Pop up books
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? Favorite thing: he's so adventurous. Least Favorite thing: He's so damn adventurous lol
@awinter - we have zero words here. he babbles Mama and Dada a lot, and sometimes i'm ready say that he uses it to identify us, but mostly i think that he likes getting a reaction out of us and that certainly does it.
i like reading these check ins, but sometimes it makes me insecure because it highlights all the areas where R is "behind". i realize there is a large range for normal and someone has to make up the later half, but it still makes me anxious.
How many naps per day? 1- He transitioned when he moved to the older infant room at daycare in January.
What are they drinking? Water and 2% Milk. He loves milk and signs for it constantly.
What are they eating? He will eat anything, but loves, loves yogurt.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) He started walking at 13 months and trucks along at a pretty good pace now. He doesn't run, but does fast walk.
Favorite toys? He loves magnatiles, pretend tools and books.
Favorite books? He has no preference at this point, but really got into being read to in the last week. He demands books all the time.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? He is starting to tantrum when he gets told no. He is also very attached to me right now and whines to be held whenever I am in his presence.
Plans for more kids? Nope. My husband had a vasectomy last month.
What is their bday? 1/31 How many naps per day? 1 a day though he has been taking it really early lately like 10 am which is weird What are they drinking? Mostly water with at most 10 oz of milk a day. We offer more but he prefers water so I don't push it What are they eating? Everything though he can be picky and things he loves he randomly will throw on the floor. How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) walking and running Favorite toys? He likes his tunnel, blocks and his ride on toys. Right now his favorite thing to do is go outside and explore the yard. He will spend hours out there Favorite books? Doesn't have one Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? Fav is when he discovers something new and how cute he is. Least favorite is the tantrum Plans for more kids? Working on that hopefully soon
What are they drinking? water, and wcm if forced; If I blend the milk with a frozen banana, he'll drink it
What are they eating? Everything, and tons of it, though I do notice him rejecting veggies more and getting a bit more particular. His favorites these days are eggs, soup, meat.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) He started walking two weeks ago.
Favorite toys? His Pum Parum Drum, cars/trucks, the squeak eggs we put in his Easter basket.
Favorite books? So many, but Brown Bear, Brown Bear is always on request.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? Least: He all of a sudden hates brushing his teeth, bathtime and diaper changes, and has a meltdown each time. It sucks. Favorite: He understands so much and has a great little sense of humor.
Plans for more kids? Probably, but we're talking about starting to try in January.
I discussed this with J's ei people and they confirmed the twin thing but I'm not sure if I should have them evaluated or not. kershnic where are your girls in terms of communication?
[ Butting in but my singleton who is a month and a half older has very very few words. And my pedi is not concerned at all
How many naps per day? 2, usually around an hour each
What are they drinking? WCM, water, nursing twice a day
What are they eating? Most things, favorites are burgers, avocado, quesadillas, bananas, roasted squash, strawberries, French toast, pouches, cheerios, goldfish, cheese sticks, yogurt
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) Mostly crawling, he took his first steps this week Favorite toys? bowls, pots and pans, boxes, cozy truck, anything that he can shake and make noise
Favorite books? Don't let the pigeon drive the bus, the pigeon needs a bath, pajama time, barnyard dance, green eggs and ham
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? Favorite - getting to actually "play" with him, watching him figure things out, he gives awesome hugs Least - he started fighting me to sit in the car seat this week, so that's been fun
Plans for more kids? Probably, most likely won't start trying until the end of the year though

What is their bday? 2/6
How many naps per day? One. It lasts anywhere from one to three hours.
What are they drinking? She nurses 3 times a day (at wake up, before nap and before bed), drinks 5-10 oz of WCM, and some water.
What are they eating? She's starting to get picky (she used to eat a ton of absolutely everything we put in front of her). Right now I can generally get her to eat cheese and fruit, but even that can be hit or miss.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) She's walking/running.
Favorite toys? Stuffed animals and blankets
Favorite books? A touch and feel animal book, a truck book, and any book with flaps.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? Her laughs are the absolute best. I can be having the worst day, and all she has to do is give one of her big belly laughs/squeals to turn everything around. The worst is that now that she's over a year old, everyone (especially strangers) has started asking when the next one is coming, and saying it's cruel for her to be an only child.

What is their bday? 3 March
How many naps per day? 2 nice two hour naps. Love it!
What are they drinking? Not milk lol! breastmilk 4 x a day and then water.
What are they eating? She eats most things but loves sweet potatoes and strawberries at the moment. She was obsessed with pouches last week but won't touch them this week.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) Still crawling. Can stand alone for a few seconds but that's it.
Favorite toys? Magnetic leapfrog car thing that makes a noise, remotes, my fitbit and my phone and ipad
Favorite books? The "that's not my" are still the favourites. I just ordered a new one online.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? The babbling and the singing. I am not liking how clingy she is and the tantrums if I try to take something away from her.
Plans for more kids? This is our 3 month ttc (took us 18 months and fertility tx with dd).

What is their bday? 2/11
How many naps per day? Was one, but the last couple of days he's woken up early so I put him down for an hour before the gym and he has done so well in child care. I can't do it every day due to timing, but I'm going to keep trying. Of course then his afternoon nap is only 2 hours vs 3.
What are they drinking? Milk at meals and water between. His first water cup has about a third of a cup of oj mixed in to help him digest the iron drops in it. He is a fan.
What are they eating? A lot. Breakfast is usually half a waffle with pb/half a bagel with butter/a blueberry muffin and a banana. Sometimes I'll give him yogurt too if he is still hungry. Morning snack is more carby- Cheerios or on the way to the gym I give him a cinnamon raisin English muffin to tide him over. Lunch is either leftovers or grilled cheese, English muffin pizzas, meat/cheese roll ups, crackers & cheese, etc. plus a fruit and sometimes veg. Afternoon snack is usually fruit and a cheese stick. Supper is whatever we have. He has been weird about stuff and randomly stops eating things he's liked before and then picked it up later. Right now he is refusing green, though peas are okay. Lol. I made spinach smoothies with strawberries and he drinks that fine though. Weirdo.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) crawling still.
Favorite toys? Books, the dog, anything he's not supposed to have? (The front closet sliding doors)
Favorite books? Anything with flaps. That he then proceeds to tear off. I have a stack I need to tape back together.
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? Favorite- watching how much he understands. It blows me away the things he has picked up on that I had no idea- I put his and my shoes on before we go anywhere and have never said anything about it, he doesn't seem like he is paying attention. But then when I was doing something else, I looked over and he's trying to put my shoes on his feet. I can ask him if he wants to read a story and he will grab a book and bring it to me. When I ask if he wants another he will go grab a different book and bring it over. Least- the sassy ness? Lol. He gets into things he knows he's not supposed to. He waits until he knows I'm not looking to start messing with the closet doors. He pretends to not hear me when I tell him to be gentle with the dog. Typical toddler crap. He's started laying down and yelling/fake crying when I tell him no though and it cracks me up every time.

@awinter Lane doesn't talk. He babbles a ton and says dada but I am pretty sure he doesn't assign it to my H. He also signs more and milk (though not as much milk since I weaned).
Hey everyone, it's been a while since we've checked in!
How is your 12-15 month old doing? Good! She is a lot of fun right now, into everything and running all over. She is really curious and pointing at everything to ask what it is.
What is their bday? DD just turned 1yo last week
How many naps per day? 2. She has 1 hour in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, but it has occurred several times in the past few weeks where she only took one nap in the afternoon.
How do they get around? (walking/crawling/running/etc) walking really fast now, but not really running
Favorite toys? her clothes, car, random bits of cardboard or plastic water bottles
Favorite books? Where the wild things are and Goodnight moon are her absolute faves. Her newest favorite is Dear Zoo (a flip the flap book)
Your favorite/least favorite part of this age? least:The temper tantrums that have started when I say no. The sheer exhaustion I feel after chasing her around all day because she does.not.stop. most: hugs and kisses, her curiousity, her laugh
