Definitely call for another week if you need them. My mistake with #1 is that I did not stay on top of the pain and it sucked. With #2, I did a much better job and didn't need them as long.

I would call the doc if it is still that bad.
For mine, I only took ibuprofen. I don't like how I feel on Percocet be that's all I could get and I refused it. I stayed on top of that for a few days and then only took as needed.

I'm sorry you're still in pain. Definitely call and get some meds. And you were the one who lovingly scolded me for trying to do too much after giving birth, so I'm reminding you to take it easy too!!! I'm sure it's hard with another LO but please try!

I am a slow healer and had a difficult recovery from my c-section. "Everyone" told me that by the end of the first week, I may only need tylenol once in a while, if that. NOPE. I was in a ton of pain (not just discomfort) for at least 3 weeks, and Tylenol wouldn't touch the pain. I was on narcotics for almost a month PP, and intermittent Tylenol for a week or so after that.
Does that mean do I feel Pain when I'm taking the medicine? If so, yes. I can tell its time to take it without looking at the clock.
If this is the case, I'd call your doctor and ask for a refill. I took the heavy duty stuff for about a week and a half. After that I just took ibuprofen as needed.
My first c-section probably two weeks, maybe more.
My second c-section, nothing after my hospital stay.
The suturing was different for each of my c-sections. I researched the surgery and techniques and found a practice that would complete the surgery the way I wanted.
If you are in pain, you should have pain meds to allay it.

I never hurt like this, and I'm sorry that you are! That said, call your doc and definitely get a refill. All 3 times I was off the heavy stuff within 3 days, but based on everyone else in here your pain doesn't sound abnormal. I hope you can rest, take it easy and heal, but I know that's hard with 2 she is adorable!
I only took ibuprofen for about a week, but all the nurses seemed to think that was unusual and kept offering me Percocet. I was allowed to alternate ibuprofen and Tylenol every few hours. Would that be enough to take the edge off?
Eta: I would not hesitate to call for stronger meds if you need them. Surgery is no joke.

I did? Lol I don't even remember.
I posted about wanting to reorganize my kitchen about 5 days after giving birth. You were like omg go rest!!! you were right!!

I can't remember if I had a 7 or 10 day supply, but with each c-section, I took the whole bottle. The first day after I ran out was very painful, but I made sure to rest a lot and took ibuprofen, and by the 2nd day post meds I felt sooooo much better.
I was in true pain for about 2 weeks. The first 5-10 days of recovery were pretty brutal, with my incision feeling very "raw".
Once I hit 2 weeks the discomfort I experienced was mainly tugging pain vs. sore/raw/stabbing sensations.
^^^ WSS
I also "stayed ahead of the pain" meaning I took my pills every 4 hours, as prescribed, instead of waiting for the pain to return before taking another dose. It was MAJOR ABDOMINAL SURGERY. I treated it as such.
I also got my refill but never finished my meds out. I think it was only 3 weeks of actual discomfort, and then it was just annoyance after that point.

Call. Get what you need. You can't heal well if you're in pain.
I needed heavy-duty pain meds for two weeks and ibuprofen for quite awhile afterwards with my c/s.
I thought I had to tolerate a certain amount of pain in the immediate aftermath because well, it was major abdominal surgery. It turned out that regular pain meds weren't doing nearly enough for me as I needed and I was tolerating a lot more pain than I had to. Standing and walking were incredibly painful for the first two days until my anesthesiologist checked on me when I was up and walking and was like, "um, no, you should not be in that much pain" and I got bumped up to oxycontin in order to actually feel normal.
With my vaginal birth, I only needed 800 mg ibuprofen for a week or so, and I was kind of unprepared for how long it would take to be pain-free after my c/s and how long I needed significant meds to help with the pain.
