How many cycles did you try before pushing for something else? We aren't doing trigger shots or anything yet, just femara and metformin. Medicated cycle #2 is a bust. I don't want to eff around if something isn't working. All signs show that ovulation is occurring, timing has been good. I know many of you feel me when I say I really hate TTC.
Are you doing TI? I am on my second cycle of Femara alone, which was actually per my request due to work constraints the next few months. I think we're doing this 3 cycles, then I'll do IUI w/injects. When you say all signs point to O, do you mean temps/OPKs, or also ultrasounds? I was temping, but they were off this cycle, so I didn't do it, and was OOT and not able to do an u/s to confirm O. Sorry, kind of a brain dump. I wouldn't do more than 3 cycles of just that.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
I'm not sure what TI is. I mean OPKs and temps, and then they are doing blood tests for progesterone levels to confirm O. I'm 2 hours from my RE, so they aren't doing u/s, and I was previously successful with just femara/metformin (twice on second cycle).

I'm starting our third round of clomid/trigger (HCG) shot Sunday. After this round we will move on to Follistim (possibly). We have been doing just u/s to confirm that I am ready for HCG shot then IUI the next day. I did ask the doctor about what else we could do (bump up clomid, switch to femara, change to injects, etc) and he said we would do the third IUI first. He didn't want to change clomid dose as he doesn't feel that there are any added benefits. FTR I do NOT temp, do OPKs or anything to confirm that I am about to O. I notice more EWCM esp with the trigger shot but I will not temp or do OPKs and the doctor is okay with that.

Timed intercourse, as opposed to doing an IUI.
Hmm, with that history, I'm not sure I'd be so quick to jump, then. I guess it would depend on my tolerance for waiting.

I think it depends so much on your diagnosis. We were in a much different spot, but the recommendations we received were straight to IVF or not more than 3 medicated cycles before IVF, which is fairly aggressive compared to most. I personally would not want to do many Clomid cycles, especially if your lining isn't being checked. I realize that's hard with your RE far away. Has your testing been repeated recently since your previous successes?

Ditto pp, depends on your dx. We're doing 1 medicated IUI (femara, with a trigger) before moving on to IVF, against my RE's advice (it's such a long shot it's almost not worth it but MH needs 1 more try before IVF, he's afraid of it for me)
If we did not have MFI on top of PCOS I would do at least 3 medicated cycles before moving on

We've done one medicated IUI with Femara, and our next IUI will be with Femara as well (5mg, CD3-CD7). We'll probably do 3 IUIs total, before moving on to something else (depending on RE's suggestion). So far, I seem to be responding to Femara really well, so I don't think they'll change it up for me unless they absolutely have to. Our DX is unexplained infertility.
I did three clomid + trigger + IUI before we switched gears. Now we are doing follistim + trigger + iui.
I'd probably give it another cycle or two, especially since you got pg using these drugs already. Keep in mind that if you push for injects, you'll have to go every other day or so for u/s from CD 5ish-10ish, and then again on CD 12/13 for the iui.

I think it depends on your comfort level, but I'd probably want to give it a chance to work since you've been successful with this protocol before. It seems a general rule of thumb I see a lot of doctors suggest is trying something three times before moving on.
