I recently saw a short film about an artist who dons a provocative dress and a reflective mask and walks through the crowds at Myrtle Beach. Here's an article that describes it further, but the film is worth watching, despite the upsetting nature. It's interesting to see the crowd interact with Alli Coates and really a sad representation of the lowest common denominator that comes out in a crowd.
I'm going to watch this when I get a chance. People make me so sad. I don't understand why people have so much hate in their hearts.
It really is worth the watch when you have time. My heart was in my throat so many times, I honestly had moments of fearing for her - people get so ugly when they decide she's a he instead of a she.
(not that it matters, but she was born a woman so the accusations of being a crossdresser or transgender are interesting)

Thank you for sharing it. I'm leaving the tab open on my phone so I can watch it next week when I have some alone time.
I just tagged this thread in my favorites so I can watch it later. The portion of the 20/20 interview where transgendered people were being bullied, beat up, etc. made me so angry and sad. I can't believe how people can be so cruel.
I don't understand this behavior. Even if you do not agree with something, why the need to get violent and lash out? Why can't they just go on their way thinking the way they want to think?
I gasped out loud when she got pushed to the ground. This was hard to watch. People are awful.
I know. I don't know what would prompt that woman to do such a thing. Hatred, fear, jealousy? A combination of all three? The young girl kicking her shoe was bad enough.
