I went from 5mins to 50 mins one way a few years ago. The difference was from a $250/wk minimum wage job to a slightly better $400/wk. I spent $40/wk on gas. So the difference was only about $400/month. But man did we enjoy that extra money! We basically went from a bare bones budget to spending money willy nilly. I think that's the difference. Will the extra money improve your lifestyle?
Yes. We are pretty frugal and still barely saving. We have enough, just really nothing expendable.
DH works at a school, so he would most likely be doing kid drop-off and pick-up once the school year starts. During the summer, he's off and will watch Leo.
TBH, it's not the time away from home that worries me. It's just getting stressed if I feel like I'm always cutting it close making it to work on time, and the fact that I get nervous driving in rain and stuff. I was told sort of hush-hush that there shouldn't be any reason I can't work from home a day or two a week...so I'm really hoping I can at least ask for that once I've proven myself.
If I had other options, a ton of money. I enjoy a morning commute because it gives me time to ease into my day but I despise the evening Commute. I just want to be home and done. I also don't like being far from the kids in case they get sick etc.

@cse1960, it will increase gas costs a bit, but parking will be paid for. Leo will be going to daycare for the first time (a friend was watching him the the past two years), but that will be the case no matter reheat job I take. DH will be off for two months in the summer and will be home with L then. If L has to miss daycare, we do have back up.
