Wow, good thing your DH was able to react so quickly. I feel like in the same situation I would see it happening but wouldn't be able to react fast enough to do anything about it.
Oh, scary. I'm glad you guys were at the right place at the right time.
We had a similar incident last week, except we were the ones in the crosswalk. A bus stopped to let us cross and the car in the next lane over (that we couldn't see), didn't slow down or stop at all. We weren't within inches like this lady, but close enough (a couple feet maybe?) that DS and I jumped back and DH yelled out from behind us. I think he and DS were more shaken up than I was by it. I'm glad we were walking cautiously.
People are dangerous. I am so glad you and your DH were where you were meant to be at the critical moment. I've had to jump back once or twice and it's maddening that people, once they get behind the wheel, are oblivious to everything except getting to where they want to go as fast as they can get there, regardless.
I have seen the results when pedestrians aren't so fortunate and know what could have happened. Give your DH a hug and a pat on the back for a job well done from the rest of us.
So, unnerving for that poor woman and I imagine even your DH. Yay for him. Too bad that jerk driver never knew what a fatal mistake he could have made that day.
Wow, that's so scary and great that your h reacted so quickly. It really makes you think that we are "supposed to" be certain places at certain times. Like if you left 2 minutes later everything would be different.
