DS has had an eczema-type rash on his belly and lower back for the past few days. We've been keeping an eye on it and putting hydrocortisone cream on it. Today after his afternoon nap he had a fever of 102. Should we let it ride or call the pedi tomorrow? He's slightly fussy from the fever but the rash has not bothered him.
I would call the pedi and ask if you can text a pic. Do they have weekend hours? Hydrocortisone can make some rashes worse. So I would want to at least chat with the pedi about my concerns.

Wait and see how he does. A lot of viruses cause rashes. If he continues to have a temp/develops other symptoms I would call because otherwise I go crazy w worry.
I always err on the side of calling. Usually I just want to ask the nurses what I should watch for & when I should take him in for an appt. I wouldn't call about just a rash, but I'd call about the rash plus fever.
