I always find that my kid is so much more pleasant if I take him to the park early in the morning. Have fun!
I just logged in on a computer for the first time since Friday and had 35 notifications. My heart stopped for a minute and I thought "what did I say last night in my Game of Thrones/Mad Men induced haze and am I being runnoft???" It was nothing. Just random likes and quotes.
What does it say about me that I have trouble spending $40 on myself (I have a Visa gift card) but I can drop $90 on clothes for DD on the next size up? I need to work on that.
I fully intend on keeping DD outside for as much time today as possible. I did that yesterday and she napped. Hoping to replicate that.
I'm hiding in my bedroom this morning. I know DD is awake, but I've discovered that she's content to be quiet in her room until she hears me get up. But I'm hungry, so my quiet time is over.
DD and I are going out for breakfast before daycare. I'm feeling sad and a little guilty about losing so much of our one-on-one time soon, so I'm over-compensating and trying to squeeze in allllllllllllllll the fun stuff possible right now.
Also, my daughter is a baller. We sold a couple things for my dad on CL and I had the money in a clip. She pulls it down and lays it out like this. I caught her trying to sneak a $20 into her pocket. lol
Hoping the rain stops so we can hit up the zoo, if not we might take DD to the indoor water park in town. Not sure its worth the admission price for her to basically play in the wading pool, but eh, its her bday!
I'm sitting here debating whether to take DS to the pedi. He's got a cold, so there's nothing the pedi can do right now about that. But his colds often end up as bronchitis or pneumonia. I wish there was a way to prevent that! I think I'll take him tomorrow if he's not better.
You guys, I am the worst ever. I do DC drop-off and DD always runs to the window as I drive away so we can wave and blow kisses. Today I totally forget to stop and wave...until an HOUR later. I called daycare and they said she had a bit of a meltdown. Then I cried. This child has an iron-clad memory. She will never let me forget it.
I'm glad I'm WFH this morning because my crying would have been pretty distracting to my co-workers. If I wasn't waiting for carpet installation, I'd drive over there to give her a big hug. I'm half-tempted to stop there on my way into the office, but I don't want to make things worse.
E was super smiley all weekend and it was adorable! I brought him to my mom's work and he was just smiling away at everyone. Then at my parents he kept smiling at the fish on the swing they have. I just love it! We took him to the zoo for the first time and he slept most of the time. My mom also carried him half the time even though we had the stroller. Safe to say grandma is obsessed

Aww that's so sweet! What a wonderful grandma. My mom is like that too. She's ask "can I hold her while she naps?" Sure mom, have at it.

I asked her on Sat if she minded watching him that night while we went over to my friend's place and she said yes before I could finish asking, haha. She also took care of him for a bit on Sun morning and let H and I get some sleep! My parents live an hour and a half away so they like to soak up every minute! He is lucky to have such an awesome family

My dog ate a toddler size box of raisins on Sunday (he found some in the diaper bag). I didn't think anything of it at the time. Then a few hours later, I was like, Oh crap. Dogs can't have raisins! Now my H is freaking out, and I kind of am too.
I hate Monday mornings. I have to go pack all of DD's food which is tough these days since she tries to get in the fridge and unpack everything as I pack it. Then I have to haul her and everything else to the car, drive 50 minutes south to drop her off at Grandma's and then drive back 40 minutes north to get to my office. Driving feels like such a waste of time for me but this is our lives right now and there is no way around it.
Plus my dad had knee surgery last week so their friends have been calling non-stop to check up on him and my brother says my mom is not in a cheerful mood. She always cheers up when she sees DD though so there's that. She'll just be driving me insane about getting all of DD's things unpacked and settled before I can leave to drive to work.
We had N's 2.5 yr check up on Friday - he jumped to the 23rd percentile for weight! OMG you guys, this is HUGE for him! Considering he spent most of his first year dropping from 50th to 0-5th and staying there, I can't believe he's going up on the charts and not just maintaining.
And, the plaque I thought he had on his teeth is from the iron in his vitamins (flintstones w/ iron). I guess he's supposed to drink something acidic like OJ after taking them, not milk. Even with the milk blocking the iron absorption, his hemoglobin numbers were back within normal range.
Plus, he didn't even cry for the toe prick. Successful appointment!
I think Monday mornings after a good behaviour weekend are harder than after a bad behaviour weekend. I miss her today. If she has been less than delightful, I am running towards work and not looking back. I don't know if she turned a corner, finally realized the tantrums weren't worth it or it's Dr Jekyll day instead of me Hyde.
We are waiting to get our winter tires changed. It is a job that takes like 5 minutes but we will still have to wait 45. DD is not going to wait that long happily. .
I am, however, almost 1/4 of the way through her day...4 hours out of the 12+ I am responsible for her on my own. DH left for work at 6:30 and won't be home til 8...I am just hoping she goes down happily at 7pm. I have a lot of long parenting days in the weeks ahead. I have to get used to it.
Free dining promo came out for the fall today! (for Disney). Yay!!
I'm so bummed as we miss the FD promotion by one day. I'm just going to hold out now for the late fall room only discount which has historically included our travel dates. We're staying at a deluxe so it might actually save us more money by doing the RO discount, depending on what the % is.
First day back at work after a week off. And my boss leaves for maternity leave within the next two weeks. Sooooo much to do and I am so not motivated. Blah!

How big is your dog?
FWIW, we fed our dogs (boxer and American Bulldog) grapes before we knew they were bad. They easily had 3-4 handfuls over a week. Nothing ever happened.

Not to scare you, but DH had a dog growing up that got into a bag of trail mix, and ended up going into kidney failure. I'd definitely call your vet if you haven't already.
You always hear about how bad chocolate is for dogs, but you never hear about grapes and raisins!
I started packing up all the newborn-6 month size clothing to store this morning. I think DS is almost out of the 9 month stuff and need to make room in the closet and dresser for the bigger stuff. I can't believe how quickly he's flying through sizes, but it's because he's so long. He's just starting to fill out width wise, so hopefully we can stay in 12 months clothes longer.
I just got my appointment date for my size/positioning ultrasound. It is May 8th. I will be 39w, with a follow up appointment to discuss the results on May 12tg. Last time around I delivered at 39w1d. I feel like this is leaving it a bit late people!!!
