I gave each girl a Coach wristlet in different colors, and then something personal to them. I got one a cook book, another GC to a salon close to her she loves, and I forget what else I got for the rest.
I still see them using the wristlets almost three years later so those seem to be a hit!
I was also given a coach wristlet another time, which I love and still use 9 years later!

My sister gave us all necklaces that were personalized to us. I got one that said "peace" another got one that said something else, etc.
I just paid for hair/make-up because my BMs were traveling and I didn't want them to deal with having to pack anything. My mother insisted on doing flip-flops for them, but I don't think they wore them.

I gave my girls black evening clutches (each one was different per the girl), a pashmina in different colors, filled the purses with a gc to their favorite store, treats, lipgloss, etc, and paid for their hair/make up if they choose to get it done

Each of my bridesmaids liked wine, and I bought each a bottle of her favorite wine + a GC to a store she liked.
I have only been a BM in one wedding and we were all given clutches (not to use at wedding), but I honestly don't think I ever used it. Wasn't really my taste.

I have been a bridesmaid twice, and did not really care for the items given. I appreciated the thought. A necklace not my style and a clutch not my style. Both were meant to be used/worn day of.
I gave my girls a nice reusable shopper (folded up small in a cute case) to carry stuff since everyone traveled, a bottle of wine, and two nice glasses appropriate for the type of wine. All were big wine drinkers, and loved the gift.
eta: I also paid for the dresses and shoes. Hair and makeup could be whatever they wanted to do for that day.
