We walked away from the 1848 New England house

  And at the same time, it's a huge relief.  There were just too many issues with it.  The owner wasn't addressing ANY issues (even the ones causing active damage... even the one that would be covered by his own insurance!!!). 

We were looking at around $50k in repairs that HAD to be done by the owner before we could even get a mortgage for the house (mold/water).  And then a ton more work on top of that.

On to bigger and better things, I guess!

I think it is for the best. There are other old gems in New England that need TLC but not systemic overhaul. The right one is out there for you.
