You're making me feel fan fucking tastic about PreK graduation in 3 weeks. That I won't be attending.
That is such bullshit. Our place is having it at 7pm on a Friday night. It's a pretty big deal. Though the field day they're having and would "love for parents to help out" is from 9~1. I couldn't even take a half day.
I just don't get it.
How can all of these day cares be SO FUCKING STUPID?
I hate this shit. I always have to take time off of work and then see the kids sad faces whose parents couldn't make it. Last week was a poetry reading. Only one kids parent wasn't there (surprisingly). He cried the entire time. I felt so bad for him
I want to live in a place where normal people don't go to work until 9 am. Although I know this wasn't the point of the thread. But anyway, where do I need to move to make that happen?
Sorry. Poor attempt at humor, I guess. I was just wondering if it was REGIONAL.

What the actual fuck was your purpose in writing this? To make parents feel worse? Fuck you.
For fucking real.
I'm missing a lot at DD's school right now and feel shitty enough without this nonsense. This isn't the goddamn post to say this shit in. Cville is already a mess for missing her DD's graduation

I went to the Thanksgiving lunch the first year but nothing since then. The few times one of us has shown up at daycare in the middle of the day my son has immediately assumed we were taking him home and had an epic meltdown when he realized we weren't. We don't have too many events where parents are invited thankfully.
My daycare is usually really good about this but they do cutesy holiday parades and shit Tuesday at 2p. Well no I can't make that. I pay you guys $342 a week to do tummy time, arts and crafts, and other shit I don't want to do at home but more importantly TO WATCH MY KID WHILE I AM AT MY JOB THAT MAKES IT (BARELY) POSSIBLE TO PAY YOU THAT MUCH MONEY.

YES YES YES. I could not agree more. I was just ranting to DH about this last week when they invited parents to a mini-science fair at 12:30 on a Thursday. AND REQUESTED THAT PARENTS DO A SCIENCE PROJECT AT HOME WITH THEM AND COME IN TO PRESENT IT TO THE CLASS WITH THE CHILD.

Omfg.....I was pissed.
What kind of science fair project are you supposed to do with 2yos? NO! I don't want to deal with projects until real school.
My friend's daycare just sent home a notice that they're raising rates $5/day and closing at 4:30 during summer break. Summer break?! I asked my friend (who works in HR, none of the parents at this daycare are teachers) if she informed her employer about the summer break that she apparently has. I use an in-home daycare as well, and those require a lot more flexibility, but closing at 4:30 all summer? Who the heck can make that work?
I think I said this before but daycare always schedules father's day stuff on the way in at 8:00 am or whatever, but fucking mother's day is an 11:30 lunch. Because mom's don't work obviously.

That's complete BS. I'd be livid and bitch to the director and find a new daycare.

I had my daughter in a 1 week camp that was 9 to 5 and I still has issues because starterk teleporters don't work yet. So worked from 10 to 3 and used vacation time for the rest of the time (and still got shit for that).

I was never so happy at when my DS started kindergarten at his public school this year because the school expects nothing of me and schedules their events at 6pm like normal people. Preschool was awful the last two years. Oh yeah, I can totally show up at 10:30am to read a book to the class. Because its not like that is what I am paying you to do or anything. And the mother's day gathering at 10am....the holiday sing along at 10am (which I had to miss because of work).
Yes. I agree whole-heartedly and I want to stab someone in the eye because I'm typically the only mom there and then my kid cries and makes me feel like a shit parent.
