hugs georgeharrison - I would have lost my shit on H too... especially for not helping. and big hugs about the job - that is so frustrating. Do you plan to use the benefits? could you try to negotiate a higher pay under the premise that you will stay on James benefits plan?
Back at work. I have to share a conversation with my old boss
OB: can you work Wednesday? We really need you. Me: ok (canceling birthday plans, cramming in all my schoolwork in my head) OB: oh good-looking I'll offer co-worker a 2nd day off-road she worked hard last week. Me: :/
Oh well, it's more money, I'm just so slammed with school and work that I need those days to study/workout/feel human.
I wish. 20 hours are school clinical hours, 30+ work, then class and studying. After 2 weeks of busting my butt during out move. No more whining after today, I promise. At least new boss said thank you

No. The only benefits they are giving me are 401k and $110/month towards parking. I already get $100/month as part of my contract. So, really the only thing they are offering me is to take MORE of it out. Not that 401k is a bad thing, obviously, but I'm working for the cash in hand.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. We don't know yet and won't know until late Sunday. We plan on having them write down the gender in two envelopes and not tell us. One is to go to the baker and one is to make sure the bakery doesn't screw it up. But I'll spill then.
And to clarify, by equivalent, I don't mean the same rate. I mean a lower rate because I'm going to be on the payroll. If he would have offered me the same rate AND put me on payroll, that would have been fine.
Does it work out to being exactly the same as you make now once you factor out that you won't have to pay contractor taxes? Anyway, what a bummer.

Hugs babya. That sucks.
Happy birthday Mr. Husky!
I can't wait to find out minion.
Follow up from yesterday's car vs building incident.... Everyone is fine. It was a best case scenario for that to happen because he mostly hit the front entrance which protrudes out a bit from the window so that took a lot of the impact. The window next to it did crack but no one was near it at the time. We were VERY lucky. It was at peak lunch time and about 30 people were in the branch at the time. Any other parking spots he would have come through the glass and someone could have easily been walking in front of him. It was a wake-up call for the driver. He was an elderly man and he said he probably shouldn't be driving anymore.
In other news our coffee pot at home broke. It's only two weeks old. I am kissed. Hopefully h calls to try and fix it today.

Yeah, so (PDQ as I'll delete),
BUT, since I've been here almost a year and I'm doing way more than they brought me in to do, I think that I deserve to get a bump in pay. My *boss has even made comments that I should ask for a raise on my next contract. I told the HR guy that, and that's when he said that in a few months I should ask for a raise.
OH, and I went through a review/pay increase cycle back at the beginning of the year. My *manager and I did the review process, but since I was a contractor, I didn't get a pay increase. My review was stellar...pretty much said that I am the awesomest ever. If I would have been an employee then, I surely would have received a raise.
How come your H hates it? Not what he expected? Or just the struggles of starting something completely different?
Mostly it isn't what he expected. He was hired as a specialist and isn't able to do any of the things he was told the specialists do as he is spending all his time stocking shelves as they are under staffed. A coworker has been ghost writing a weekly blurb for the newsletter, H has never been asked to write these they just show up with his picture next to them.
He also injured himself a few weeks ago and being on his feet all day is resulting in the injury not healing properly.
