What do you wear during the summer months when running around? Kid's sports, grocery store, weekend trips to Home Depot, etc. The winter is easy... yoga pants or leggings and a cute hoodie. I'm struggling with summer. I am also plus size - 5'10 and a size 16 so super short little running shorts aren't going to cut it.
I got some old navy twill shorts I wear a lot with t-shirts. Summer is a lot harder for me too. I used to wear Bermuda length shorts, but my thighs are thicker at the top than the bottom and they are so hard to fit. Skirts would be a decent option too
I wear running skirts, shorts, maxi skirts (usually with a tank top and chunky necklace).
I also have a couple pairs of distressed denim boyfriend shorts from AE that I get a million compliments on all the time. I paid those with a tee/tank and fun jewelry.
I stay at home and usually wear maxi dresses, sun dresses, or shorts. All of my shorts but 3 pairs are Lilly Pulitzer and the crazy prints hide a lot of the stains kids make haha! I also have a lululemon skirt (I think it's the pace setter?) that I wear a lot. I'm also really into rompers.
I do almost always change out of my workout clothes regardless of the season because after I workout in them they're gross and sweaty! But in the summer if we are leaving the gym to go to a park I won't change.
I wear lightweight woven "track pants" with the elastic cuff on the bottom and sleeveless shirts or V-necks with cap sleeves. Also a lot of tunics / longer length v neck tees and leggings (even in 90 degree weather) and flat strappy sandals or with a very slight wedge.
I don't like skirts because I cannot do floor time, bend etc... sometimes I wear a maxi dress but all that fabric -- ugh. FTR I'm a size 12.
I'm not a huge fan of shorts, but I wear skirts a lot. I also wear these jersey gaucho crop things that are really comfortable and airy. I'm not a beacon of style lol, but I like them. I throw on a tank and flip flops and I'm ready to go. They look like this:

i have like 7 pairs of ON boyfriend crops, they're a khaki material and so easy to throw on with a tee or tank and feel "dressed" without feeling too done up.
I wear cropped yoga pants with a tank top or a t-shirt. I have a hard time wearing anything nice because I work from home and have an infant (so spit up and all that). But I have no style which is why I come here (for inspiration).
Shorts, tank, and short sleeved cardigan usually. I am very, very pale but it gets so hot here that I just stop caring by July. Sundresses, too. I am addicted to the fit and flare dresses and have gotten a bunch over the years.

As cute as they are, sundresses/maxis don't work for me either when it gets too hot. I would end up tucking the fabric between my legs when I sit because it's gets too hot when my legs touch. Awkward. Shorts are my go to. I'm pretty short and 3" are my go to length.

These are perfect for Seattle spring and I can imagine maybe even in the summer. Great for running errands, going to the park, or playdates and more comfortable that my Zella leggings imo. Pair with a white tee and slip on shoes.
Not a SAHM (or mom at all) but I'm about your size and I don't do shorts (except for strictly in the house) because I'm not a fan of my legs. In the summer I usually wear cropped yoga pants and flip flops. The past couple of summers I also started wearing maxi dresses and maxi skirts...Old navy, gap and sometimes VS or target.
Skimmies have opened up a whole new world of summer skirt/dress wearing for me. But I also have a collection of skorts that I love. The kind that you can't tell have shorts underneath them. Most are chino type material, but I have 2 that are a jersey knit. The knit ones aren't as good at preventing chub rub though.
you don't happen to have a pic or brand name do you? I desperately need some cheap comfy dresses!
Olive & Oak
They do not appear to be listed on Costco's website. They have hi-lo dresses on there, but my Costco carries short, sleeveless dresses and sleeveless maxi-dresses. The short ones are $12, maxi are $17.

What are skimmies?
Jockey Skimmies look like spanx, but they aren't meant to suck anything in. They're really comfy and stay down on your legs.
