Dude, I ugly cried as hard as anybody, but this is just ridiculous.
I wonder if anyone thinks it'll actually work? I still have yet to see the actual episode but I can't imagine getting this worked up about anything.
It will never work in a million years. He's...very dead.
I have to admit that the sadness stuck with me through the next day. Like, there was an actual change in my mood that next day. Which is probably flameful, but whatever. But not so much that I could've written that petition

oh don't get me wrong I am definitely more sad than I should be about it too. Lol, I watched Maid of Honor this weekend just to see him. But I definitely agree not enough to write anything like this. I did however, start following him on Instagram

His IG are kind of weird. Some cool racing photos, but other times it's weird.
Ellen Pompeo posts fun things though. Lots of behind the scenes stuff.

I just like to see his face . I'll check out Ellen's that stuff would be fun to see.
I think it's a bit ridiculous, too, but I can kind of understand where they are coming from.
PD was still on contract through 2016 and from what I've read, he wanted to remain on the show and was blindsided by this, so it's not a situation where he wanted to leave.
Shonda seems to be doing this for shock value, pure and simple - all look at me, killing off McDreamy, GRRM has nothin' on me. What happened to true storytelling ala Addison's appearance in the S1 finale, Denny's death in S2, heck, even Christina's swan song last season.
Speaking of, if Derek really HAD to die (which again, why?), didn't he deserve a season finale death? And one that wasn't written so horribly like some bad fanfiction brought to life on the screen. He just saves four people only to get plowed down by a semi (nevermind that of course that was the first vehicle, after the rescue vehicles, to come through that mountain road and double nevermind that the road would have been closed off to traffic in both directions).
To add insult to injury, he's taken to some podunk mountain hospital instead of being life-flighted to a trauma hospital and until they find out he's a doctor, too!, he's treated like crap. Don't even get me started on their only neurosurgeon being out to dinner. And all the focus on these other no-name doctors that we will likely never see again - unless Ms. Shoulda Coulda Pushed for the CT ends up at SeattleMercyGreySloanWhatevertheFuck it's called these days.
PD's McDreamy and EP's Mere have been the heart and soul of the show for over ten years. He deserved better than this. He deserved to go out like George (I still have chills remembering 0-0-7) or Lexie or Mark. Christina, as mentioned above, got this huge "I'm leaving" arc that was beautifully done.

I DON'T know about the show but Wendy Williams (LOL) said Shonda Rhimes hates drama (hi Katherine Heigl!) and can be kind of...vindictive. Then again this is Wendy Williams.

I still kinda think it'll open on Mer sitting on the couch, looking at the clock, waiting for it to be 5 so she can start looking for Derek.
Then, Derek will walk in and it'll turn out to be that Mer is having a mental breakdown or panic attack and just made all this up I her head because her life is full of shit and she's a paranoid mess of a person that can't NOT go off the deep end whenever something looks even slightly off.
I keep reading interviews but not getting a straight answer. A lot of people are defending Shonda saying, "What choice did she have? He wanted to leave." However I remember PD on an interview saying he never planned to leave the show. He'd stay until the end. It's possible he changed his mind. But what I'm getting from his interviews is that he didn't want to leave, she cut him loose, and now that he's been canned he's going to focus on racing more.
Let's face it, if he had a contract until 2016, there is no way in hell Shonda would have just let him go a year early. Him being killed has to be her decision.
Ugh I'm way too invested in this show and that's why it needs to end already. This is the only show in my life that I've watched from day one and 10 years later have never missed an episode. I'm a loyal fan but a tired fan, lol.

But, I know he's probably just really dead.
I thought this for about an hour after the episode ended. Then I saw the slew of articles proclaiming "Derek's dead" and then that fake obituary Huffpo wrote and I just don't think it's going to happen.
