Just to be clear my OB didn't like go up my butt with the speculum. He just rubbed the qtip over the taint/hole area but that was still upsetting particularly considering the general state of that area at 36 weeks.
At 36 week with DD 1. once a patient tests positive at my OB practice, they don't bother testing for any subsequent deliveries. They just assume that since the patient was positive once, even if they tested negative at 36 weeks, they could always be positive on the day of delivery. So they don't test, they just give prophylactic antibiotics once in labor.
I dunno, the stripping didn't work. I think I was just so stretched out and swollen it was a free for all down there by 35wks.
Ah. Actually, when the new midwife did it, it didn't hurt at all, but it didn't work that time. Then my other midwife did one and it hurt like hell, but it worked. Lol.

I have no memory of being tested although I'm guessing I was also around 36 weeks. They somehow knew I was positive at the hospital even though my dr never mentioned it before. They must have found it in my urine when I was admitted.

They should have had it in your chart, right? I know they had some info about me because they had me down as GBS- and I had to correct them.
Yeah I guess I assumed if I tested positive at the 36 week swab my dr would have told me at a later visit and let me know about the extra medication I would need. But I don't remember hearing about needing that until I was already admitted and the nurse told me I was positive. Maybe my dr forgot to mention it but I am guessing they did a test for it because I remember peeing in a cup when I got there.
This brings up a good point about this pregnancy though. I finally have a question for my OB appointment. Yay!

I know that I had it done, but I have no recollection of how it was done so it must not have been too traumatic.
ETA: I don't remember the when either. Those last appointments I was so focused on just being done and getting it over with I didn't care what they did to me. Strip my membranes? Yes please. Anything to move things along, but eventually I was induced which I started begging for as soon as I hit my due date (didn't happen until a week after though).

The pee in the cup wouldn't have been for a gbs test. It is a culture that takes a few days for results. So it was most likely in your prenatal records. We do a urinalysis on all patients when they get there.

I should probably look back in the thorough notes DH took at every dr appointment before I call my OB out for not giving me a heads up lol
I have an appointment today and they didn't say a word about this. Crap, I have to shave my butt now?
They switch to once a week appointments at 36 weeks, so it might not be until next week. From here on out, though, I assume I definitely need to shave first--between that and internals. (Mine starts those at 37)
