Hi ladies. I'm nervously posting because I've lurked for awhile and appreciate the knowledge you all share.
Here's a bit about me:
I'm 29, my H is 30, and we've been married 6 years. I went off BCP's early this year, partly because we were FINALLY ready to TTC and partly because I had no period on bcp anymore and it was starting to freak me out.
I've had two very long cycles with light AF, and I've been temping with no clear ovulation temp spike. Maybe I need a new thermometer? I'm also marathon training, so I'm hoping after my marathon in May my cycles may get more normal or I can figure out what's going on.
I'm a regular on H&F but don't post much on other boards. Anyhow, hello!
When I stopped BCP, it took a while for my cycles to regulate, so it's possible that it will take a bit to get back to what is normal for you. Are you using a a BBT thermometer? I know there are people that say it doesn't matter, but I like the additional accuracy and think it does help to see those shifts.
raangoli - No, I'm just using a regular digital. I was thinking of looking for a BBT next time I'm at a store that would have it. Do you have one you like?
Thanks everyone! I'm not worried yet per se, but I'm just trying to be pro-active with charting so I can see where I'm at. Maybe I'm just not good at reading my other symptoms yet, but so far they haven't been very clear either.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
thom - I use one I got from Walgreens - I think it was less than $10. I would link to it, but I don't see it anymore. I know people have also previously used ones they found at Target.
And ditto on the FF (Fertility Friend) app - it does all the guess work for you
I'm new around here and I don't temp, but I do use Fertility Friend to help keep track of my cycle after being on BCP for years. I think it's helpful app.
Have you run a marathon before? I'm a runner, I've gotten out of shape the last few months, and I'm planning to start training this summer for my first marathon in November. (I've been registered for two before and got pretty far in the training, but got sick once and had a family emergency the other).
Thanks Mushe. I hope we can both get a post-marathon BFP. But especially you.
And yes, FF is very helpful. I've been using since I started temping. It doesn't think I ovulated my first cycle, and my second cycle it kept moving O back with just dotted lines as my temp kept coming back down, then up again. I'm just starting cycle 3 so we'll see.
Hi @travelbug1210. I hope your training works out this time! I'm sure it's been frustrating to put in the work and not get to marathon day. Which race are you planning for?
This will be marathon number 5 for me. I really keep enjoying it as long as I make small goals and give myself time off when I need. I'm not sure if I've seen you on the H&F board, but it's a great place for advice and support especially once your training picks up.

Thanks! I post on H&F once in a while but I'm sure I will be over there more. I'm doing Richmond.
