We just finished our nursery for baby #3, which, honestly, I think this is the earliest I've ever been done with a nursery. I know PINK isn't everyone's cup of tea, but this used to be our DD's room, and I had let her pick out the paint color when we bought this house. I didn't feel right changing it. My amazing H put up all of the beadboard and trim, the new window casings and caps, (the windows were not framed previously) and new, wider baseboards. I painted at least a couple of coats on all of the new wood, plus I had to paint the existing trim, the door, and the closet doors to all match. That sucked. I enjoy painting more than H does, so I figured it was a good trade. I'm extremely happy with the outcome. :-D And extremely happy it's done.
Here's the before: (DD and DS now share a bedroom)
And after:
This was my last project. I mounted and framed my baby shower invite, (it's too cute not to keep forever!) and moved my painted "A" on to the wall to make room for it.
Thanks so much! It was tons of work, but I love doing this kind of stuff. Almost everything was DIY, so it was time consuming--the canvas over the crib, the crystal mobile, and the dresser was a refinishing project. (previously a honey oak) I spent some Christmas money on those crystal drawer pulls. I REALLY wanted those drawer pulls. Ha!
It looks beautiful! THat is impressive work for a third baby. lol
Lol that's what I was thinking. My third was my first girl and we moved the boys in together and my mom was like "don't you want to paint the nursery pink?!" And I was like "eh. But... Work, nah" lol. So she and my step dad did it. Win win.
