Are you happy with it? We got fed up with AT&T. I wanted DirecTV but DH didn't want to pay so much so he got Roku. I don't like it so far. The problem with AT&T was with recordings skipping. Now it freezes and says "loading". DH was enraged with AT&T but now is totally breezy about it. He blamed ATT again because we still have Internet but Netflix/Hulu/Prime never gave us a problem. Im blaming cognitive disonance. Also it looks like I have to watch HBO on time. I couldn't find where I could watch Sundays episode of GoT because we were out of town.
We are heavy DVR users so....I don't know why DH thought this was a good idea. Am I doing it wrong? Maybe it's user error and I'm just being a dummy?
What kind of internet do you have? How were you accessing Netflix/Hulu before?
If you were having problems with the speed of your connection before, a roku would not be a good choice.
I have 28 mbps. I access Netflix etc here. We didn't have cable at our old house, we moved and we didn't cancel any of it. I watch it all the time, no problem.
They told us the skipping was an issue with the DVR being too full. They replaced it anyway, we have kept it below 20% but it kept skipping so we said screw it.
ETA oh sorry. We watch netflix/prime/hulu through DHs playstation.

We sometimes have issues streaming hulu with the roku so we usually stream it through the blue-ray player without any problems. No issues with streaming anything else.

I love ours. I have no idea what speed internet we have, but we have verizon fios as a carrier. We mostly stream Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Go, and the porn channels. So far, no issues.
