My dd had hers at night until three and I plan on doing the same with my ds. Their dentist isn't worried so I'm not gonna sweat it. It was a few nights of crying from my dd but that was it. My son is more attached so I'm not looking forward to it.
With both kids I restricted use to crib and car (and ouchies..) at 9 months for language development purposes. At a year crib only and none at daycare for naps. I let DD keep hers for nighttime until a little past two when she actually ripped one of her two remaining pacis. I had her throw it away. I realized how easy that was so we cut the tip of the other one and she got out of bed and threw that away too. She cried a bit that night and the next but she understood they were broken. After that no issues.
I plan to do the same with DS. He is 22 months and just uses it for nighttime sleep. He sleeps like a rock, I am not changing anything right now.
C bit through a wubbanub at 18 months. I was afraid of her doing it again and choking so I took them away cold turkey. I tried cutting off the pacifier part and just giving her the animal part. She would walk around showing it to people and asking for help. It was heartbreaking. She did much better when we took the whole thing away but, really, I hated taking it away.

2y2m and it was a breeze. It was just car and crib. DD2 uses it still at 18 months for just car and crib (since 12 months). No plans to stop any time soon. At 2 DD1 understood it needed to go. So it was not very hard. I have no desire to have DD2 up all night long right now for days.
We first took it away during the day and just used it for nap and bedtime. We waited for a weekend he was not sick, in a good mood and not teething around 14 months. He did very well, but I am in no rush to get rid of it completely.
littleOlive gave it up real early, like 4 months I think. I was conflicted at the time bc I wanted him to have a way to soothe himself, but he would literally close his lips and turn his head every time I tried to put it in. I guess it just wasn't for him. I am glad we never had an issue with dropping it, oh lord he is so stubborn now I could only imagine how that would go.
DS (25 mos) sleeps with his at home. No pacifier at daycare for naps and he has no issue.
Our Pedi said they want it gone by 3 - I think we'll plan around 2.5 to take it away at night. I honestly should just drop it for weekend naps now since he doesn't need it at school. Maybe I'll attempt that on Saturday.
He used to get it in the car, but hasn't since about 12/15 mos, so it's strictly a home sleep crutch now.

Still going strong here at 2. We have been trying to get her to limit it to sleep only but she throws a fit and that hasn't been going well. We are going to need to cold turkey at some point I'm just dreading it. I will take her to the dentist in July so maybe they will talk some sense into me.

We pulled it at 9 months because she was playing with it more than using it for soothing in the early morning in the crib and was contributing to early morning wake-ups. I just tried it for a nap on a random Saturday and she barely noticed, so I pulled it that evening, then we had DC pull it that Monday.
Ds1 - gone at about 18 months. He was only using it for sleep at that point. It was hard one night, but then he forgot about it. DS2 - 6 months when we Ferbered DS3 - is 6.5 weeks old, and so far doesn't care for pacifiers much, so hopefully we never need to deal with it

When she turned 2. I cut the tips off at the end and it was around Easter this year so we blamed it on the Easter bunny. The first couple nights were a little rough but overall, it went smoother than I thought.
She only uses it for sleep and travel (some walks in the stroller/some rides in the car). I guess we should probably start taking it away for the stroller and car, but I hope she can use it for sleep for a little while longer. Her dentist said not to worry about it yet, which surprised me.
My oldest stopped at 2.5 because she wouldn't stop chewing holes in them and we cut them up. It sucked for a while but she got over it.
We tried with my second around 22 months because she was chewing up pacifiers like crazy, and I gave up because she wouldn't stop screaming and stopped sleeping. I found a paci that she can't chew up (Soothies) and said fuck it. She only uses it for sleeping. We'll get rid of it sometime before or around 3 I think.

C is 22 months old and still has it for sleep only. He probably doesn't need it at all (we don't send it to daycare) but he won't got to his bed without it. I plan on getting rid of it complete once his damn eye teeth pop through!
Last night was the first night one of my girls was without hers and she is 3.5. She said her sister bit the head off of it so it was ruined. lol I said "ok well I'm going to throw it in the trash and you will be a big girl and sleep without it now" She did fine last night but woke up before 6am this morning crying for it. Now I have to get other DD to ditch hers but our plan has been to give it to some twins we know at their first bday party this weekend. They have only been using them at naps and bedtime since they were 2 or so and my dentist was not super concerned-she said a paci is better than their thumb.
DD is 21 months. She only gets it for sleep. We're actually planning on getting rid of it in June, when she'll be 23 months, but I'm already nervous lol. The main reason for doing it in June is because I have a 10 day stretch off of work, so I can be tired from her crying for it all night and I did want to do it some time this summer so she didn't have to bring it to nap at school next year. We'll see how it goes. She has a name for it and says it regularly, so I'm probably screwed.

Between 4 and 5 months for DS1 when we did sleep training. He became a thumb sicker and that was fine with us.
Around the same time for sleep for ds2, but then he had it in the day sometimes until 8 or 9 months since he was more whiney and didn't take to his thumb.
