Ive decided that im going to do my 20 miler before work, instead of over the weekend.
Ill wake up at 430, be out of the house by 5, be back by 815 or so, depending on if i hit the train, lights and if i stop to get a powerade at DD. Just in time for my 9am meeting. Im going to work from home.
That sounds sort of awesome. It's going to feel amazing to have that done ahead of time, and it will be nice to be working from home after that! Good for you!! You will kick butt.
You're a good kind of crazy. It'll feel great to have it done! For my 20 a few weeks ago, I had to leave right after to meet H and DS, so I started really early too. It was awesome to knock it out.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
I think the most I've done before work is 10 miles. I still had to get up at 4:30 to meet my training group, get home and shower and get to work sorta on time.

Good luck! I've done distances of up to 14 miles before work. It's much better if you can work from home, so you can get up and stretch however often you want.

Sounds like a good plan. I did the longest runs for my "PR marathon" training cycle (basically the only marathon I've ever done proper long runs for, lol), before work on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings. You end up feeling more invigorated for the work day than you expect.
Friday will work out great, though. come home and pour yourself a drink, have anice dinner, and enjy the start of the weeked. You're already done with the hard part. Good luck!

This is exactly what I was thinking. I love when I do a 12-14 miler during the week. A 20 miler would be awesome!
Good luck! I did this one day for kiawah. It was a long day but when people ask if you're tired you get to say "yes, I ran 20 miles this morning". Then they look at you with awe!
Checking is on our Friday bad ass! How did it go, al320?
Thanks everyone!
It was good. I was out of the house just before 5 (thats not eaely for me, im usually swimming at 515, but its been hard for me to get up early to run lately for some reason). The first 6 or 7 miles were dark, i sort of forgot i slow down a LOT in the dark, so that ws annoying. Also, i wasnt fully awake. By mile 8 i found my groove and it was fine. I did not, however, anticipate the very long line of high schoolers getting coffee at dunkin donuts where i stop at mile 16 for powerade, so that got me home little later than expected.
So now im home, wearing compression sleeves, about to dial in to my 9am conference call. :)and im SUPER glad that done.
And now taper.
Which is hilrious since this was my second run of the week. This marathon is going to be a disaster!
