Hey ladies. It seems there have been quite a few of us who have unfortunately had a d&c. If you did, would you tell me about your recovery?
I had mine yesterday. I had a bit of bleeding and bad cramping for a few hours. Today I feel almost completely normal physically. A few cramps here and there and very occasional light pink spotting. My doctor said to expect bleeding for a few days to a few weeks.
Did anyone experience no or minimal bleeding at first only to have it show up a few days later?
Hi Suz, I'm so sorry (again) for your loss. My experience was the same, with only minimal spotting and cramps, and it never picked up. I'm a runner, and the first time I ran after, I did have a little more spotting with the exertion, but it never really got worse. I hope your recovery continues to go well!

Mushe Thank you. I'm sorry you had to deal with this too. I'm hoping this is it as far as bleeding and cramping. I've been pretty sedentary the last two days so I'll see what tomorrow brings when I go back to work and am on my feet all day.
I'm so sorry. It's been a while since mine, but if I remember correctly it was 24 hours of medium bleeding and light cramping with some lingering spotting for an extra 1-2 days. Hugs.
I had mine Wednesday a week ago. I had minor cramping for about 30 minutes after the procedure. I was fine the next day. Bleeding started out period like then decreased to spotting then bright red blood then spotting and tonight the bright red blood is back. No cramping still. It's annoying and I'm over it and ready to move on. Bleeding for 8 days is no fun. I'm hoping it goes away for good soon.
I am so sorry @suvz and carrieq. I had medium to heavy bleeding for a few days and then light to spotting for another week. There was also some cramping that went along with it. I think it was a total of 10 days or so that it lasted. It seemed like forever at the time, a constant reminder as if I needed another one.
The day of my surgery I bled a lot (they took my temp and said it was low, probably to blood loss.) The next day I went back to work and had the most intense cramping of my life halfway through the day. Nearly passed out, had to be sent home. I was taking pain killers, but they had worn off. That was the only time I really had major pain with the D&C. Then I remained on painkillers for about five days.
I had very light/medium bleeding for about a week, week and a half. Got my first period almost 5 weeks to the day post-D&C.
Like you, I had some bleeding and cramping for a few hours on the day of the d&c then just a little bit of spotting the next day. I did have light/medium bleeding come back on day 3 for a week but no cramps after the first day and it was far less than a period.
Dr put me on the pill afterwards so next period was like clockwork.

First of all, I am so sorry
secondly, yes, I did have more bleeding later then I did initially...I felt like I was being continuously ppunished as if I wasn't going through enough
I had a D&C on Thursday afternoon. That night and the next day I basically lay on the sofa, but wasn't in any real pain or discomfort (some cramping and bleeding, but no worse than a period). I had slight cramping maybe until 48 hours out, mostly when doing stuff like brisk walking. By Monday I was physically ready to go back to work. Emotionally, I needed a few more days (I went in and my wonderfully understanding male boss actually sent me home until Wednesday).
