We are having unusually cool weather and it is freakin glorious! Nothing but sunshine & highs that range from 77-80 for the next week. (hot) I am giddy!
The 5k I won last weekend is in a VERY small town an hour north of us, and it's attached to a crawfish festival. The crawfish festival is without a doubt, the biggest thing that happens in the town. Because of this, the 5k got a full page article in the paper. Two things. 1) There is a picture of me that takes up almost 1/4 of the page. I look like I am on the brink of death and fighting my vomit from the night before. Lovely. LOL 2) There are a few paragraphs w/information and quotes from me. Just basic things about how many miles a week I run. How I felt about the race. Previous races I've done, etc. Then it says, "She's already qualified for next year's Boston Marathon. 33 yr old clseale CERTAINLY DOES GET AROUND." lol Best.Quote.Ever.
This is somewhat H&F related, but also somewhat professional related. For our triathletes: 1) What does your race day gear typically include? Most tri kits are typically just the top & shorts, right? 2) If you were given the opportunity to have your IM fee paid for, PLUS possibly get into a big race that is already filled up, BUT you would be required to wear a company's branded tri gear, would you do it? Assume the kit is from a well known brand AND that you will be given the kit ahead of time, so you have a chance to train in it before race day.
Three weeks from today, DH and I will be waking up and sipping coffee on our balcony, to this view!
DD3 was up from 2-3 am puking up her little guts. I really hope it was something she ate.
A pretty large part of me hopes she is still sick when she wakes up so I can stay home today. I'm so tired.
Bummer. Hope she's ok. Well sick enough for you to stay home but well enough to be ok and enjoy your day together! Better keep her home just incase and watch movies all day ;-)

[bra Don't know about triathletes, but if your company wants to pay for my next run, I would glady don a branded tank and shorts
Gear for race day: wetsuit, tri kit, bike shoes, bike, helmet, socks, running shoes, sports bra, cap , goggles, race belt, water bottles, sunscreen. I'm sure I'm forgetting something.
Our weather has been great as well! The humidity has seemed low and the temps are topping out in the low 80s this weekend. Glorious!
Note to self (and anyone else who hasn't learned this yet) - don't have two beers at a HH (especially if you're a lightweight and they make you buzzed), then go home and eat dinner, then try to run 5 miles only 2-3 hours later. It doesn't work out well and your stomach will STILL be yelling at you the next morning. Not that I know from experience...
That being said, there's a beer festival in my suburb this weekend that I'm excited to check out. Carb-loading, right?
Sure I'll post again: I haven't done any running since relay last Sunday. We just got puppy and we are trying to get routines and stuff down. I'm also working on my national board teaching certificate, it's due in 20 days! I'm not really close to being done.
I would totally run in branded outfits for free race fees and entry.
I'm watching Dr. Phil reruns (it's my guilty pleasure). There's this lady on there that is being scammed by some Nigerian con artist and most of the time I feel bad for them, because they are so gullible. It's the same story, they meet this person on dating sites then transfer tons of money to them. Never even meet them in person. I don't really feel bad for this lady since she's really kind of nasty. It's just sad though, such a waste of money, she's given this person like $200K! So crazy! I wonder what he did with all the money.
joenali, my company might be sponsoring a small team of very specific athletes for a popular IM race. I have a line item in the budget for branded athlete gear & I'm trying to figure out how much to allocate, based on the pieces they need, that we might want to logo. PDQ. I might DD this info.

LOL and yes!
Race day gear: a pretty comprehensive list would include tri top, tri shorts, goggles, (race provides the cap), I don't wear a wetsuit but most folks do, bike, bike shoes, socks, sunglasses, helmet, water bottles/hydration system, gel flask, bib belt, running shoes, visor, and nutrition (gels, drinks).
Running word search in a local paper today. Love that the first word is beer. I'm a course marshall for the twilight 5k tomorrow. Considering I've gone the wrong way in races, lets hope I don't mess this up! This seems like a good way to get the fun race atmosphere of a night race without having to worry about tummy issues from running later in the day.
I'm going to do 10 miles after work cause I've decided I need to run another race on Sunday. Mr. GT is doing a different race (on Sunday) because a kid from his school asked him to run it, but he is thinking about trying to run both races. We are clearly both crazy.

Fun! What in the hell is #2? Is it some super cool thing you all have been keeping from me? Do I need to handover my runner's card, because I have no idea what it is?
"clseale certainly does get around." LOL! Gotta love small town newspapers!
We have a wedding tomorrow night and I'm ridiculously excited. We haven't done anything in awhile, and even though I'm working all Saturday beforehand I arranged to be off Sunday morning. Glorious.
Not sure when or how far I will squeeze in my run. I'm trying to truly embrace the taper philosophy that " less is more" and not worry about it!

Don't worry. You're good, lol. It's a local nat'l park.
My house is a wreck. After the marathon goggles came off, I suddenly realized we've been living like a frat house. How do people manage training/ jobs/kids and not live in a disaster zone??

On the bright side, I can go up AND down the stairs normally again! No more frankenstein legs (until the next marathon) Yay me!!
I went with H to his pt this morning because well he can't do anything other than walk anyways since his surgery. We took the dogs. His unit was having a fun pt day they played football and then bid on pies to throw at the superiors. The dogs enjoyed cleaning up from the pies. The money is going to their organizational day next week. There was also cake and ice cream.
OK also, I called a cleaning service and made my shopping list for the bike store:
Indoor trainer Lights Tri Shoes Pedals Gloves Roof rack
I'm pretty sure I need a new paygrade to support my ironman-by-40 quest, but what the hell, Im getting a promotion at work and my first tri kit came in the mail yesterday so color me excited! (I'm channeling the great reginaphalange72 here)
They changed up the lanes in the pool this morning from short to long course. This changed my workout tremendously but in the process caused me to have a swimpiphany and I fucking rocked out. I took 10, TEN minutes off of my kilometer time from last summer. I feel amazing!

I'm determined to get into the Disney princess half marathon in February. I really want to run the race because I know it will be really fun but it's also a perfect excuse to bring ds back to Disney World.
