I'm so glad Jenny stopped being a hosebeast to Claire. This next part is seriously one of my favorites in the whole series because I love her and Claire together.
WTF, why did Jenny have the carved snake all this time? Unnecessary change that I don't like, Ron Moore.
I'm on the fence about how the part with the Watch was changed. Why introduce McNab in last week's episode if he isn't going to turn Jamie in to them?
I loved the repeated clock/watch imagery, especially how it echoed the central image from the novel's original cover art. I don't care if it was unintentional, it worked.
just finished watching, I loved this episode! I love Jenny and Claire's relationship overall. it's not perfect, just real. like sisters, duh. honestly, I had forgotten the finer details in how Jamie acquired his snake again and how he was turned over to the watch/British, so I have no issues with how Ron Moore did this. DH said at the end, "oh that was a fast episode." yes, it was, lots of drama. can't wait for the next episode or two!

Yea. This episode was great. It didn't follow the book, but it moved things along. The only thing I'm sad about is that we didn't get more love in lallybroch. But they did a great job overall.
I am actually NOT looking forward to the next few episodes. I know they are going to follow the BJR tortute and... Gosh. That was even hard for me to read. I'm not sure I need to actually see it

I plan to drink heavily when this episode airs, and probably not watch it until the second showing (8:00 my time) because at that point my kids will be asleep. They're still up and bouncing around the house for the first half of the initial airing, and I'm not okay with them wandering into my room during any of the Black Jack scenes.
I thought this episode was good, but I didn't lovelovelove it like I did some of the earlier ones. I felt that way during this part of the book, too. It was kind of the slower setup to the big crescendo. I didn't mind any of the plot changes he made this week, but I wish I knew the reasoning behind some of them. Like, why do we need to be buddies with the Watch now?

Book spoiler below!!
Doesn't the son they took from him become important down the line? I thought I remember him popping up in Voyager.
*very minor book spoiler*
We see him again, but he's not important to the plot. I think the more important bit is where Jamie shows Claire the McNabb house, which was burned down after his father turned Jamie in.
I liked it. I'm getting VERY nervous about the rest of the season. I need to remind DH to pick me up more wine so I can have my glass to get me through watching it.

Is it wrong to say that I am ready for this season to be over? Book 1 was my favorite, but I'm not finding the show to be overly entertaining. I am ready for season 2 in France! I'm so excited about Versailles, Master Raymond, the Hospital, etc. I think season 2 of the show will be a lot of fun.

Yes. I want to skip wentworth and go straight to France.
