She's been doing a lot of walking, so I'm getting her a GC to her favorite running/walking gear shop out here. She's coming out for a visit in June, so she'll be able to spend it soon.
MIL is getting flowers, per DH's suggestion.
And they're both getting these cute felted wool potholders that I found in a shop out in the San Diego area when I was out there for my conference. They're colorful and look like something a kid would make, with hearts in the design, so I'm sending each of the grandmas one "from" the girls even though my kids didn't actually make them.

I don't really do gifts all that often. But H is building my parents bikes. He was hoping to have them done in time for Mother's Day. But they might not be done in time. So here's to Father's Day!
I was going to get her crochet hooks, but it seems like maaaybe I should be getting her a pic of my kid? lol I am AWESOME at this...
Mother and Father's Day are easy street for you now! Enjoy!
My brother regularly gripes because Christmas for my impossible to buy for Grandparents is ALWAYS something kid related now. We used to go in together and spend days trying to find something. Now, he's on his own.

My sister and I went it together and got her an iPad mini for Mother's Day/birthday (which is today) and we got mani/pedis with her yesterday. She was thrilled.
I don't talk to my mom. So nothing for her. We just bought MIL a new LV as her Mother's Day gift. She watches DS, so we felt the gift was justified. But it was funny at the store because I took her to go get it and she was going on and on how DH was the greatest son because he buys her the purses. Bitch please. DH is good at gifting but I'm not sure he would have picked up on his mom talking about how much she wanted one. I told her that if it wasn't for me telling him, she woldn't have a LV. Or four.

We are going to a fruit/vegetable farm that has a "family" weekend thing so the kids can ride ponies and jump in bounce houses. We are doing lunch there too.
My mom never seems to appreciate any gift I give her and her birthday is a few days later. My parents don't live very close and don't really get to do things like this with the girls. I'm hoping this time the experience of spending the day with the grandchildren is the best gift ever...

A greeting card and a gift card to Amazon. Some years I do this by email, this year I'm actually mailing her a card.
(This is what she wants for Mother's Day, her birthday, and Christmas. Done and done.)
Starting next year she'll be back in town for Mother's Day, but I always go out of town myself. She has a bunch of kids, and she never wants to go out to eat on Mother's Day anyway, so it's not like I'm abandoning her.
I'm getting her flowers and a card from me and from my girls a coffee mug that say Nana on it and some cute little ice skate earrings "that we just have to buy for Nana because she'll LOVE them!"
She has been whining for a while about how she wants Jimmy Choo perfume, so when I saw it on Zulily 10 years ago, I ordered it, and it just arrived last week. She's gonna be stoked. It's the big bottle, she's gonna think I really love her.
I am so excited for my mom to get her gift this year! She visited my sisters and me recently and we got a really nice picture taken in front of a flowering tree. And then Livingsocial had a special for a photo fleece blanket. So my mom is getting a giant blanket with all our faces on it. It is hilarious and cheesy and now she can snuggle with us whenever she wants.
And she lives far away so I don't have to see it every day!
I think it's hilarious and I'm glad my sisters approved it!
