After my walk I was 2cm and 80% effaced, so still very early but doctor felt like sending me home would be a waste since I'd be back. So I'm in a room now, had a nice shower and they're bringing me a birthing ball. Contractions are steady at about 5 mins apart and according to the nurse were quite strong on the monitor. Our nurse is awesome. I'm free to move around, eat and drink until I get the Epi, which won't be until I progress some more. They've also offered me laughing gas to take the edge off till then? I'm intrigued...... Anyway, raise your margarita glasses for a Cinco de Mayo baby!!

The laughing gas didn't do crap, whomp whomp. So they gave me something else, I forget the name but it was through an IV and also a shot in the butt. It's taken the edge off but I still can't really sleep. I'm drifting in and out and H is snoring.

Just got checked, I'm at 3cm and 90% effaced. Little by little we're getting there. She's going to check me again in 2 hours and may recommend pitocin at that point. I can also request an Epi anytime I want one from here. This stuff is still taking the edge off so I'll ride it out till it's not effective and then request the Epi.
Oh and I said before that cervical checks don't hurt? I uh, take that back. These are much less gentle than the ones I had in the office.

I got the Epi around 3:30 and they inserted the foley after that, the nurse said my water broke at that time but not much drainage since so she might have been fooled by my sneaky discharge too lol! I got some rest though it's hard with the automaticBP cuff coming on all the time and someone always checking my stats. A new doc just came on call and he's going to do a cervical check. Oh and they started pitocin a couple of hours ago bc my contractions were stalling out.
