Backstory: DH has a friend from HS he still hangs with occasionally. I think said friend is kind of an idiot, but whatever, they play video games together and that's about it. Friend eloped with his GF of 6 months last summer because she quit her job and she didn't have health insurance. They decided to start trying for a baby immediately because she's in her mid-30s (almost 10 yrs older than him). Friend called DH in Feb. to tell him that they were pregnant and how they had been trying so long (less than 6 months, btw) they almost gave up. I was ragingly mad at the time because I generally judge this friend's life decisions a lot.
Anyway, last night friend calls to tell DH they found out they're having a boy. So DH was like, by the way, we have some news ourselves and tells him that we're expecting and I had just had an ultrasound. Friend's wife then asks if they can have a copy of the ultrasound (ummm....WUT???) and that she'll be able to tell us the sex of the baby. DH was like thanks, but no thanks and then came upstairs to relay this info to me. We were dying laughing.
Who wants a picture of another woman's uterus? And just because you're pregnant does not make you an expert. And good lucking telling the gender at 6.5 weeks. BAHAHA!
Apparently that's a thing. There's this speshul magical technique to see what you're having based on what side of the uterus your baby is implanted on.
The babycenter boards swear by it (if you need some easy entertainment) :-)

She's got a 50% chance of being right.
Then again, so do I, and I don't even need to see your ultrasound!
Um, MAJOR side eye/WTF to asking for a pic of your ultrasound. There is a school of thought that says that you can tell the sex that early if you get the right shot of the fetus but every pregnancy book I've read says boys and girls look the exact same until around 12-13 weeks when the genitals start to become more distinctive so I'm calling BS on this method.
She sounds like someone I'd love to hate. One of those people who get under your skin but you can't cut out entirely because they hold too much entertainment value.
