Randoms/Rants/Whatever (because I'm bored)

So bored I was browsing the Amazon Lightning Deals and found that they had a 24-pack of Crispy M&Ms, which are my sister's ABSOLUTE FAVORITE (like she has coveted them for years since they were discontinued but brought back recently) for $8, so I purchased them and sent them to her. She's studying for her LAST FINALS coming up (she graduates with her RN in like 2 weeks) and I wanted to surprise her.

I've also got Pitch Perfect playing on my iPad and I'm downloading free fonts. Because that's also what I do when I'm bored.

I just finished a final and have one tomorrow. Last night I found out I won a humongo scholarship (well over $15k per year). Now I just need to find another job to go with my existing pt job this summer.

Mine is that I'm really antsy today - I guess because I'm waiting for my mom to call to tell me how dad's doing.  I'm just totally and completely unable to sit still. 

Also, in happier news, I'm really happy for a friend of mine who just found out she's expecting.  It literally could not have happened to a nicer person.

Just was ask to fly to Dallas for some chemistry training for work! I'm excited it's the 18/19 of this month.

OMG, the good news hits just keep rolling in! I'm going to AW all sorts of things right now because I've just had such a crappy couple months. I need all the good news I can get.

*So, dad decided to fight. Mom asked if he wanted me to come visit and he said "NAW, I got this!" I feel like I won the lottery with this one. Obviously, the fight's not over, but ...
*I just got off the phone with my mother receiving this good news and get a phone call from a construction company. We entered a bunch of drawings at our local home show this weekend and ... we won $5k towards a new roof or deck. OMG. SO EXCITING. We definitely need some new roof, yo - there's an actual hole in one spot.
*THEN, I'm telling R this and he got a phone call - he was at a work-related event in Vegas last month and entered a bunch of booth drawings. And he won a Nespresso machine. One of the premium ones. The guy's going to drop it off in person in the next month or two so he can meet up with R's boss.
*FINALLY, there's a strong possibility I can score a job with a 30% pay raise. OMG.

OMG OMG OMG OMG. I feel like the last few months have been some sort of weird cosmic joke and now the universe is all "JUST KIDDING"

My randoms-

i called to schedule an appointment with a blind company to get an estimate on plantation shutters for the front of our house. Will it look weird to only have them on the front windows & not the back windows? We're lakefront & the highlight of the house is the view.

I'm starting month 2 of clean(er) eating & hoping to really see results this month. My weight training/running have worked well this past month & i hope it continues!

95 runs north-south from Florida to Maine. I'm very familiar with the I-95 corridor between VA and FL. And this Pinot is not that bad for $8.

I have basically resigned from my job without a backup. Ready for the next chapter, but also freaking my money-man DH out, because at the end if next week, we don't know when or how much my next paycheck is going to be.

My aunt also died, about 10 days ago. So I feel you @juno, so sorry. Seems like she should have been at the family gatherings making everyone feel better.

Got to spend lots if time in the yard this weekend, it made me happy. Now it's been grey and rainy for two days.

I'm eating vanilla ice cream with thin mints mixed in. Yum!

My new laptop is pretty awesome! For some stupid reason I can't get my wireless printer to work wirelessly however. Such a PITA.

My sunroom is all drywalled. They're going to sand it off today and then paint tomorrow. Yay. Then floor, ceiling, cabinets, done. Well, the outside siding too but it's apparently on backorder and my contractor is unhappy. He's like..."It's the most basic shade of gray ever..how the hell do you not stock this?" Haha.

I bought $125.00 worth of plants yesterday. Some for MIL, one for DCP, the rest for me. It's my goal to keep them alive all summer. I hate plants. I did get the most drought resistance, sun loving ones I could find for my sanity.

We are going to a nice brunch Sunday with my MIL for sure. The family loves her and FIL but no one ever really takes them out for a meal except us. She said to me last night, "You know it's so sweet that you always ask on the holidays and sometimes after church. It's so fun."

I'll vent on my contractor. If I ask the simplest, innocent question he gets so freaking defensive and immediately says "that's what you agreed to in your contract." Dude, take a chill pill. I'm just asking. It's unbelievably frustrating. DH and I do rock/paper/scissor to see who has to call him about things b/c it's so annoying.

He also has his own design preferences and will openly question mine and say he thinks that will look bad "but do whatever you want..."

I am this.close to my due date (and possible induction a week early). My boss asked me to compile a template for our publication, which I did on the 23rd of last month. He wants to discuss it today. I swear on all that is holy that if he asks me to actually DO the layout, I'm going to lose it. He constantly sits on things that he asks me to do like this and then I have to rush to meet deadlines. WE HAVEN'T EVEN HAD THE MEETING TO DISCUSS CONTENT. I'm off tomorrow because of daycare conflict and I'll be back on Friday and then MAYBE 5 days next week, but that is not enough time!!

I think I ranted previously about this guy who sat next to me on the train (in the aisle seat) and refused to let me out at my stop (grumbled that he'd let me out when he was ready and I was making him stand in the aisle, etc.). Today he sat by me again, and this time was rambling (on the Quiet Car) about how the announcements weren't audible, etc. I was all fired up to yell at him if he was passive aggressive about letting me out at my stop again, but he wasn't. So, I was working myself up for like the whole last ten minutes of my train ride for no reason.

I'd pull the forest gump on the bus move on his ass next time.

My random/rant:  STILL PAINTING THINGS.  I hate how long everything takes me.  Also does anybody else tend to lick their finger to smooth caulk lines?  I've probably eaten a fair amount of caulk at this point.  That can't be good.  But it works so much better than anything else I've tried....
