I was at this rescue tonight with my friend, who was looking for a cat. He is the sweetest, most gentle little guy, he just wanted to sit in my lap and be pet. And give head butts. He is declawed though on all fours, and I worry that if my cat didn't like him, she'd have the upper hand, with her claws. She's been an only cat for a year and a half (she was supposedly good with other cats in her rescue). I dunno. I'm scurred.
But then again, look at him, and he's been through hell and back, we could give him a wonderful home.
I had an older cat. When he met the new cat he attacked him immediately. Shocked me so much. A flash of fur and then a spinning ball of 2 cats. They were rolling around and screaming but never drew blood. A lot of postering but they don't use teeth and claws in territory fights. And it was only that one time. They both chilled out and became buddies.
I have 2 declawed and later saved a 3rd who is not. I kept them separate for a few weeks. They are three peas in a pod now and the clawed one has never hurt the declawed ones.
If he was on this side of the country I would totally get him. I won't get another cat because ours is declawed front and back and I don't want her to be outgunned (out-clawed) if we got a cat with claws. She came first so she should be the alpha.
He's adorable. He looks like he'd be a great addition to our family so he'd definitely be a great one for yours.
I wish H and I could get another cat now that we finally don't have to pay pet deposits anymore, but our cat is an only cat. Hates other cats and dogs and hides around large groups of people.
Ok, we got him Well, for a week anyway, we're doing a "sleepover," which is a trial to see how he does in our home. Especially with my girl cat. He's confined to our guest room and seems very content, he's already eaten and used the litter box. My other cat and him have been sniffing at the door, and she's been sticking her paw under the door. I cracked it just a hair so they could catch a glimpse of each other, and she hissed (No reaction from him). I hope it's just because it was too soon.
He just mosies around and purrs. He purrs all the time, even if we're not petting him. I swear it's almost like he's so grateful to finally be somewhere comfy and calm, without a million other cats running around. In this pic, he's just laying there purring. lol. I can't get over it!
