The Mei Tai worked really well for Jake. There was no extra fabric between the baby and him so it cut down on the heat issue.
ETA if this helps, Jake is 5'10" and 200lbs or so. So, like...broad. He also is a flippin furnace so this was a huge issue for him.

Ergo can be worn in the front and then on the back. Tulas are also good.

My H loves the Ergo. He isn't huge though, about 6 ft, 190 lbs.
ETA: we have the ergo sport. It is also more breathable than the regular ergo which is nice.

I love a Mei tai too. I would wrap my daughter in a woven on my husband but he was too intimidated to try wrapping on his own.
Eta He's an XL and very broad chested.

I recently got a Moby Aria and love it.. it can be worn front and back and it has a mesh "vent" to help baby from overheating. H hasn't tried it yet but I'm not that small and there is still a ton of room for it to adjust out for someone bigger.

My H has worn a mei tai - specifically a BabyHawk. He's not as large, but he and I can use the same one which is nice.
