It's fabulous. The best car ever. Everything is so child friendly and there is not crawling over seats, room for a wagon and beach things and groceries. Basically the best ride ever. You know, minus being a minivan
Anywhoodle, I adore it! Even just for the sliding doors so I don't have to worry about the kid hitting the neighboring car when he insists on opening the door himself.
I'm glad you like it! I've heard the Odyssey is amazing!
I want one. I really do. I will own up to my mom style. DH is not ready. Listen dude, we have 2 kids, 2 dogs, softball and karate going on these days. I need room in the car. And I want sliding doors to make life easier.
I have recently told DH that my next vehicle will probably be a mini-van. We travel 8 hours each way to his parents a few times a year and we need more space!
I love it, it's so versatile. We love folding the seats down and having picnics in the back when it's raining. In the summer we go to the drive in and fill the back with pillows and blankets, it's like a big bed. I also love that I can drive DD's and all their friends around easily.
We also have a Honda Odyssey and absolutely love it. We sold our beloved Jeep and I actually cried because I loved it so much. But I love this so much more.
I will say that I was surprised (not in a good way) how little room there is between the front seats and the middle seats with rear facing carseats. I thought there would be more room.
But yes, I love it. We've had it just at a year now
Oh the dream is still alive. But I can't be stupid about it. The Escalade is like 2x (or more?) the cost and the gas mileage is about half. I have a long commute to work 5 days a week remember?!
Well, I'm glad you love your new car.
I just mailed some of these to you. Might as well complete the transition.
I have a Honda Odyssey Touring too, and every time I use the remote to open the doors or tailgate, I want to hump my car, I love it so bad. It's just so damn convenient. We got ours a few years back before I was even pregnant with DS. Even if we only wound up with one kid, I still wanted a minivan lol.
You know, I think I'm ready for a mini van. I love driving the truck, and it has a big back seat so there's still lots of room for 3 kids, but groceries are annoying. We also have a subaru Impreza that no one drives. Maybe I'll trade that in for a van. Hah.

I found that in my Kia Sorento, it was really tight back there in the second row. And it was a 4 cylinder that seemed to struggle on hills =/ And whenever my parents come to visit, which is pretty often, it was so tight with just 1 carseat. With 2 carseats they'd basically have to drive a separate car.
My mom and IL's have to drive a different car. And if we want to take the kids and the dogs or kids and bikes to the park, we need to take 2 cars. But DH is refusing a minivan. I want one, but on the other hand... I have 3 months left to pay on my car so no car payments sounds nice too. at least that is what I am telling myself.
I have a Honda Odyssey Touring, too! But it's old, like a 2005. We got a great deal on it.
I love it. Being able to open the side doors and the back hatch from the keyfob is great for kids and shopping. The interior is really nice. We have the fancy protection mats and those are a godsend. The back row is easy to pop up and down. We don't use the entertainment system unless we're on 30+ minute car rides, but when we do, it's great to have.
My only complaint is that it doesn't drive well in snow, and I wish we'd been able to get AWD (ours was used, so we didn't get to pick features). But that shouldn't be a problem for you!

I'm glad that those that have minivans like them, as this is looking like my future. I don't see fitting 3 kids into my PT cruiser. Car shopping is going to have to happen in the next few months.

This is one of the deciding factors of getting a minivan actually. At the time, we figured if we ever wanted to go anywhere with more than one grandparent (which would be often), a minivan would be necessary.

I have an old old old Odyssey which I bought new in 2002. I still love it like the day I bought it. I love its captains chairs, I love its turning radius. I love that it was 5yo before it needed anything other than maintenance. It got great mileage in its heyday, but it's not so great at ~15-18 mpg now, but I rarely drive it any more. My brother is driving her to Texas this summer, and if she makes it home my mechanic has a new home for her already.
I call her my "big girl," as opposed to my "talker," which is my 2013 hybrid Civic, which I am also madly in love with. Did I mention she got 54 mpg once?
I really am going to miss my Odyssey when she's gone.

I recently upgrade my 2007 quest to a 2015.
There have been major changes made between the two models and I'm not going to lie, I preferred the height and size of the old one to the new one.
That being said, I drove an suv for the months between selling the ks one and getting the new one. It was such an enormous pain in my ass not having those sliding doors and walk through to the back seat, that I did a happy dance when the new van was delivered. I will drive this thkng forever just for those fucking doors.

A few months ago I went from a Dodge Journey (which I loved) to a Chrysler Town & Country (Touring-L) which I FUCKING LOVE. Seriously, sometimes I'll open the door into my garage just to look at my van and admire it.
I'm only kind of kidding.
The extra room and space. The lift-gate system and push button doors. The back-up camera. How the cargo in the back is set down into the floor so your shit doesn't slide all over the back of the vehicle. Stow-n-go seats. DVD players. Need I go on?
My Mazda CX9 Grand Touring will be paid off in 4 months and I'm not gonna lie, I'm dreaming of trading it in for a minivan.
I bought this car because I thought it would be awesome with the 3rd row seating but it's still kind of tight. With 2 car seats that 3rd row means shit since you can't access it without removing a seat. This car will be more useful when my kids are out of car seats so I'm regretting my choice a bit.
Owell. No more car payments plus one less kid in childcare this Sept (going to kindergarten). I'm already spending the $1500 savings in my head.

I mean check out that trunk space for all your groceries!
