Mine had it's ups and downs, literally! This is a long one.
Thursday we took off to Lake Placid because Jerry had a conference to attend. I walked into town and had lunch by myself at this cute place over looking the lake. I shopped around town, grabbed a coffee and wasted time until Jerry was done. We walked over to a local brewery for a beer and to catch up. We kept walking around the village stopping here and there for snacks and drinks. It was an awesome night that ended with us sipping wine by an outside fire at the hotel.
Friday we had a great breakfast and then headed out for a hike on one of the high peaks. Let me back up, we are NOT outdoorsy or very skilled at map reading!! We were supposed to end up just doing a nature trail that would take about 2 hours, but got lost and ended up in a very scary position on the mountain. We had hiked a very tough trail, which at that point, why didn't we realize we were off track? After 2.5 hours, we got to a sign that had our trail name on it, so we figured it was a loop and just kept going. I was taking pictures of the beautiful landscape, talking about what to do that night, etc., oblivious to where I was going. FF to 2 hours later, we are in snow. Like, SNOW! We had crossed knee-deep streams, mud pits, etc. and got to yet another sign. These were our options: 2m to Summit or 4m to where we started from. Jerry in his delirium thought the summit was the way to go because it had our trail name . Keep in mind, we were only prepared to walk for around 2 hours, so no sunscreen reapplication, 1 bottle of water each, and that was it. I made the executive decision to make us go the 4 miles back. Jerry has a minor break-down during which, we lost the trail. It was scary for a hot second. I regrouped, got us back on track and on our way. Jerry non-stop complained about his thirst and it was a bit exhausting. I kept motivating him to make sure he could get down the mountain without flipping out and giving up. I was very thirsty, very tired, but kept our sh!t together. I even gave him the last 1/4 of my bottle that I had saved. With about 2 miles to go (thanks Fitbit for keeping track!), Jerry tripped over a root and took a little tumble. He got up, brushed himself off and begged me to run ahead, fetch water, and basically save the day. I was scared, but realized he may actually be in some trouble if I don't help out. I ran out of there as fast as I could, found the ranger station, guzzled some water, filled up our bottles and ran back to meet Jerry. I begged him to just keep moving while I was gone so that I didn't have to come back too far. I ran through a swarm of bees and over a snake. About 1.25 miles on the way back, I saw Jerry walking towards me and it was the happiest moment of my life! He drank some water and we stumbled back to the car. I am thankful for a few things: it was 84 degrees with no chance of rain, it wasn't close to being dark out, Jerry listened to my executive decision to go those 4 miles, we worked together as a team and didn't fight. We drove home and hit up some soft serve ice cream to reward ourselves. It was scary, but we laughed about it on the ride back. I walked 26,000 steps, 10 miles, and burned over 5000 calories, lol.
Saturday- taught classes in the am, then vegged out all damn day.
Sunday - ran errands, went to Lake George for the day and then vegged out again.
It was definitely good that one of us could stay in control and not panic. I would have guessed that I would be the one throwing a fit in the middle of a mountain, lol.
Friday we went out to watch the hockey game and eat wings. Saturday our new tree was delivered and planted (it's so pretty!) and then we went downtown to see our friend's band perform. Did a little shopping, then came home to assemble the new entertainment center and set up the tv/stereo system in the basement. The room is finally all done and I love it! Sunday the ILs weren't up for a visit, so instead we ran some errands, including buying a new dishwasher since ours died and handwashing dishes is THE WORST, then went to a nursery and bought a carload of plants and bushes and spent the afternoon weeding and planting and watering. Watched the hockey game and then passed out. All around a very satisfying weekend...I really did not want it to end!

Friday I went to my girlfriends for a 50 shades movie night. Well, the DVD didn't work, so we ate penis pops and still had fun.
Saturday I woke up feeling very woozy with quite the headache. However, I proceeded to work 6 hours in the basement and switch over the winter to summer bedding. I then showered, hit the store for dinner, ate and fell asleep at 11.
Sunday - feeling MUCH better, I spent about 4 or 5 hours in the basement, showered, grocery shopped, then we spent the remainder of the afternoon/early evening on the deck drinking beers enjoying the weather.
Friday went out w BFF and her XH. We did drinks on the patio at MoMA, then dinner at Quality Meats. It was so good! We split a dozen oysters, two steaks, three sides and two bottles of wine. I had forgotten to tell (or rudely didn't bother to, according to BFF, LOL) T I was leaving for the weekend on Saturday morning, and he wasn't up for going out Friday for various reasons, so their meeting was a non-issue.
Saturday I got up and took the train to CT. Went to my second cousin's 70th bday party with my aunt and mother - it was actually pretty fun. They love to drink, so there were all kinds of booze. After that, my brother came home from Maine, we hung out waiting for my sis to get home from work around midnight then had a few more beers with her.
Sunday we all went to brunch with my grandma and aunt then hung out at my parents' house for awhile.
