It went well overall. I was a minute slower than last year (I'm pretty sure it's the extra 10 pounds I've been in denial about). But it was a lot of fun and I'm still pretty happy with my time.

a minute is a rounding error! (taken from a friend
Those digits are still too early . Really though it sounds like an awesome race. I'm already looking forward to my well earned nap hah!
how'd it go for you? Beautiful weather!
Congrats! Race was good. time went out the window because my H and I stopped to help a guy who collapsed, and waited for the ambulance with him. I had a hard time finishing after that, and it happened about mile 5.5. I just couldn't stop thinking about him. .

I prob saw you then ?I saw the guy, totally limp and cpr being administered so I didn't stop. But the way he was laying... Yeah still in my head. So sorry. Thank you for stopping.

Thank you My H is a paramedic. It is very surprising to people how hard and VERY exhausting it is to administer CPR. There were a few people already there when we came up and I wondered if we would be crowding, but there was no way my H wasn't stopping. I'm glad we did because people traded off. I wish I could follow up but I'll probably never know what happened. Obviously we hear about this happening but I wasn't prepared to see it personally. I can't get it out of my head either. I'm glad you had a good race and enjoyed yourself! I live in the suburbs but sometimes come in to do long runs on the lakefront on weekends if you're ever interested!

I've never thought about that, that's a good point. I'm glad there were people who could help. I'm curious too - I've looked at news and I realize I have no right to know, but I wonder.
And yes, I would be totally up for a running partner. The lakefront is there but I don't take advantage of it like I should and a running partner would be wonderful. How would contact be useful, PM you my FB link?
