Before getting pregnant I worked out 4-5 days a week with running, boot camps, hot yoga, etc. I was so wiped out in my first tri that I stopped and my travel schedule at work just really slowed do I finally have both the time and energy.
Is it bad to start working out again after a 22 week break? I mean I won't go running far or do anything crazy and will take it slow but I sm good right? I know they say it's fine to workout if you worked out pre-preg but not sure if that holds true after 22 weeks.
I got my first workout in today, after taking 8 weeks off. The 1st Tri is so hard for me, and I've already gained 15 lbs! I'm hoping now that im feeling better, working out will help slow the weight gain. I normally do 4 miles on my elliptical, but could only do 1 this morning. But it's better then nothing, right?
I took most of my first tri off too, at least about 8 weeks. I'm starting back with ~1/2 hr workouts, today on my bike (on the trainer in the basement). I'm keeping an eye on my heart rate and exertion levels and figuring it's fine. My body knows the routine.
Thanks ladies. I am going to try and ease back into it. Do some light workouts this week, then I know we will be doing a lot of hiking in Hawaii next week which will help ramp things up.

My first walk/jog of my pregnancy was the best workout I've ever had. I didn't push myself, and felt so energized later. It was nice. Now that school is over, I need to get back on that bandwagon.

One of my pregnancy books says it's pretty common for women to feel up to starting back at working out at 16 weeks +. I think as long as you ease back into it, stay hydrated, and listen to your body, you are good.
So far, I've only been walking. I need to ease back into strength training. The end of my first tri, when I should have been energetic was when I got struck down by the worst flu of life. Now that's finally passed, and I'm looking forward to getting back into strength training again.
