How am I going to get through the next month? Give me your best travel tips please! I have 3, 4-5 day trips during weeks 7-10. Yesterday I napped for 6 hours and slept 10 overnight. I'm pretty much either so nauseated I'm unable to function or asleep. I have lots of early am flights, late night arrivals, 2+ hour car driving, and leading 8 hour training sessions. I'm planning lots of snacks to take with me, and have diet soda for the caffeine since coffee and I aren't friends right now but any other tips? As for meds, did anyone have less fatigue with Diclegis than unisom + b6? I've been doing scheduled b6 and then adding in unisom just when it gets really bad, but I'm not sure how I'm going to drive 2.5 hours tomorrow morning after waking up super early for a flight. I have been needing unisom just to ride in the car but can't take that and stay awake to drive. My RE won't give zofran any more. I do have some phenergan I will bring just in case, but it also knocks me out. Thanks for indulging my whine
Ugh, the travel. First just know that in the end you will survive and you can get through it.
I needed to pack not just snacks but real food to avoid being sick. PB and J sandwiches were my go to. I found that if I loaded up on snacks I felt ill. Eat before you leave for those early morning flights. You won't be hungry, but eat.
DO NOT DRINK MILLSHAKES before getting on a flight. It will seem like a good idea. It's not. When you land grab something small at the airport then as you get close call and order room service to be there when you check in.
Puking in the airplane bathroom is better than puking in the bag. You will consider the bag when your head is in the airplane toilet but trust the bag is worse.
Call ahead for extra pillows and decaf tea in your room. These helped with sleep and in later weeks I have been bringing my bump nest pillow. Worth it.
Check everything. It's annoying yes, but to not have to carry things through the airport is 200% worth it.
Diet coke was my caffiene of choice too. Drink to stay awake. Take a black car or uber whenever possible. I tried to avoid renting cars but I also really only hit urban areas so it's easier.
Oh I forgot about sea bands! Those were really helpful early on, I need to bring those back. Does anyone have a favorite nausea tea? I usually bring sleepy time for the hotel but I should bring something for the plane/work. I'm so annoyed, where I'm going next week doesn't have full service hotels. I'm at a residence inn so I will have a fridge to hold food but fending for myself is not going to be pretty.

I'm fly to Dallas and back tomorrow. It's going to be such a long day. I plan to take my empty water bottle and some snacks. I like the PBJ idea too. I'd recommend getting some Prego pops. They don't help me first thing in the morning but they help me throughout the day when I get nausea. I need to remember to take a Zantac and tums with me too but I have no idea what my actual meal choices will be. Certain things give me awful heartburn. Sorry I'm not much help but I feel your pain and I'm only doing it one day.
I also wear compression socks on longer flights now, but didn't do that until I had a bump.
Where did you get them? I need some for our flight to hawaii Friday.
I got my compression socks from Amazon for the trip I'm on right now.
boiler717, I took Diclegis for about 5 weeks in my first tri. After the first few days of it, I couldn't tell if I was just tired from first tri exhaustion or if it was from the Diclegis. I don't know that I would have wanted to take it before driving a long distance.
After sitting on the Tarmac for who knows how long I'm going to add a portable fan to my bag. There was a problem with the A/C and the vents kept blasting out heat. Do you know what doesn't go well with morning sickness? Super hot air blowing at your face while on a super hot plane.

The flight attendants took pity on me, they were so sweet. They brought me up the front and gave me cool towels for my neck and ice cubes to much on. Looks like we are delayed even longer so I'm now munching on bagels in the sky club.

Did you make it?
Yes! I got to my office around 2 central after all the delays and a 2.5 hour drive. Thanks for checking in!
preppy, question...body scanners, are they a no-go for pregnant ladies? If so, do you tell security you're pregnant and request a pat down instead?
Thanks!
My OB said it was fine:) I have gone through a zillion at this point, though now that I am bigger and showing many places will wave you through the normal metal detector. I have had the pat down and I find it incredibly invasive so I am happy to scan. Quicker too!

I appreciate the quick response!
Stupid me...I'm flying this weekend and forgot to ask my doctor her thoughts on the matter, so thank you for the feedback.

My OB told me to avoid them, but I know that many on this board do not.
The truth is that I have always avoided them anyhow. You don't need to tell them you are pregnant. Just tell them that you are opting out if that's the route you choose. They don't necessarily care why.
