I have had high bp for a while now Last Monday, the OBGYN put me on meds twice a day to bring it down. Last night and this morning I got readings of 150/103. The OB said if it didn't come down I could ask my doc to up the dosis to three times a day.
What freaks me out is that 100 is well over the 90 barrier I was told to use as a cue to get to hospital. The midwife checked my urine yesterday and there were no issues. She told me the meds "take a few days to kick in." (It has been 8).
I have two options: 1. Calm down and go to the GP tomorrow to ask her to up my dosis
2. Go into the hospital to see the gyn.
I hate this. I hate being worried and feeling like an idiot if I overreact.
Can you call and just up your dose? My doc told me I could add a third dose if I was getting readings that high. My anxiety over the whole thing also didn't help. Occasionally even while on meds I got high readings. I never had any issues with protein in my urine either - I think I did 5 24 hour urine collections too, ugh!

I have two options: wait 12 hrs to see my GP and ask for her ok to up the dose or go in right now. I just got home from work and am 156/98
If you're anxious about it, go in now. I had some readings like that and I waited and was fine though, if you decide to wait! I know it's tough to be in that situation - thinking good thoughts for you!
Have you seen a cardiologist? I have to go tomorrow because my readings were high. My midwife said that is their step one.
Nope. That hasn't even been mentioned.
After an hour of just chilling on my left side I am down to 150/93. I am going to wait until tomorrow to see what my GP has to say. Little one is dancing up a storm right now which makes me feel loads better!
Good luck. My bp was high with my last and I ended up being induced at 39 weeks. Get all the rest you can and try not to worry!
This is going to sound stupid, but what were your numbers like and what prompted them to induce?
Nobody else I know had this issue.
I can look when I get home, don't remember off the top of my head. Since week 36 I had consistently high bp. (never had it with my first and haven't had any issues this pg) I would go to the office and have high numbers and they would send me to the hospital and my numbers would be fine, baby monitoring went ok. Then on week 38 they put me on bed rest and when I went into the office the following week my numbers were high so they sent me rt over to the hospital to induce. The ob did not want me to wait any longer and figured that the baby would be fine and she was at delivery. My induction went super easy and I have no regrets about the labor/delivery experience. During this pg I have a bp monitor at home and check my bp and so far it has been fine.
