bk1 - ugh, that sucks! i'm sorry! i hope your day starts looking up!
my parents had been waffling about coming to visit this summer because they are tight on money. i was kind of bummed out and h said we could pay for their gas. my mom said last night they would come! i'm so excited!
I'm going to attempt to go to work today. I still feel awful, but I opened my work email last night to check my meetings calendar and I have over 200 unread emails. I'm not allowed to work from home, and I can't handle knowing that I have that many emails to go through so I'm going in this morning.

I went to see Pitch Perfect 2 last night. It was awesome. Now all I want to do today is listen to the soundtrack and sing along. But I am sure my officemate would think I have lost my mind.
katespade hope you feel better, don't over do it!!
Not much going on today..currently enjoying a bubble bath while DD is sleeping. Will make lunch here in a bit and then hopefully pick up around the house and take a nap.
My days lately have been pretty lazy. I do not wish her to grow up fast (faster) but I'm ready to take her out and show her the world (or Target!)
on call for work today... I was supposed to go in at 11, but I've already been texted by our assistant manager to just stay on call.
now I'm doing laundry and ordering flowers, while also trying to explain to my H why I feel the need to send flowers for a girl I haven't talked to in like 6 years. because that's what good Christians do, that's why!
The house is getting quite messy, but I don't have any energy to clean . Hopefully this weekend I'll get stuff done. Apparently we have a neighbor who called the police on us because our dandelions are very tall. H mowed a week ago, but they popped up again immediately. Our neighbors think we're trash because we don't have Trugreen come to spray the lawn. Every time the old bat walks by when I'm outside she says something like "Do you EVER plan to mow the lawn?" She has never once said hi, hello, etc. I guess she has nothing else to think about. We don't want to spray the lawn with poison because of the dog, though. Trugreen assures it's not dangerous, but somehow I doubt this. Eh.
@moonbeam- we have get our lawn sprayed for weeds and such, the company we use though only uses pet friendly stuff. We only started doing it though after because my mom has used the company for 10 years with no problems.
That being said what can the cops do if you have tall grass/dandelions? And not everyone can pay to have a lawn service, and it doesn't mean you are trash. :/
I feel like I'm hungover this morning and I didn't even have one drink last night. I'm sitting here drinking water like it's going out of style as I think I'm dehydrated.
awick14 I'll look around for pet-friendly weed sprays. I'm so tired of the neighbors judging us for this shit. We're quiet, we don't have loud parties or anything like that. If my dog starts barking we call her in immediately. But because our lawn is "natural" then people actively despise us.
The lawn mower doesn't seem to cut the dandelions, it just smushes them down and then they pop back up. So while the grass is short, the dandelions just keep on growing. I feel like I need to go out there with a sickle or a scythe or something and hack them down lol. So we have an "ordinance violation" from the police, meaning the grass has to be cut within 3 days. No problem, except the dandelions will be back up in full force a day after mowing. I can't even imagine giving a fuck about the state of my neighbor's lawn as long as there was nothing, say, smelly or something about it lol.
@moonbeam- ugh, ya in sorry your neighbours are being assholes.
Dandelions suck and are so hard to get rid of. That's the main reason we got the lawn service. But if you don't want a lawn service don't feel pressured to get one.
I hate that they comment every time they see you. We have a nosey neighbour like that who comes over and comments on every little thing that we do. "Why are you taking out that section of grass?" "Why are you taking out those bushes" Because lady we need somewhere to park our trailer, and our entire front yard is flowers/shrubs it's too hard to maintain. Ugh
I've got 11 days of school left and my laziness is taking over. I sit during my lunch/prep and stare at my computer and then frantically get things ready 10 minutes before my kids walk in the door.
Here's my dog in her field of dandelions ten minutes ago. Last year there weren't nearly as many. They exploded this year. Behind her is her peeing area. Her pee seems to be good for the grass...I should collect it and sprinkle it all over.
@moonbeam Sounds like our neighbors when we lived in our house. Total assholes to us, the guy was obsessed with his lawn and expected everyone else to be the same. We took pretty good care of our lawn but it was not perfect and that annoyed him. Sorry dude, don't care.
This is also the same neighbor who told us to "go back to the north" so yeah.
@moonbeam- sorry about your neighbors...they really don't have anything to complain about, much less call the cops on. Sorry you are having to deal with that.
wanderingenough- your DH scored major points! Enjoy time with your parents!
Same old stuff, different day here. DH and I are so up and down with each other. He's hell bent on moving and I'm refusing to budge. He says he understands about my mom but then keeps lookig at houses/making my life miserable with comments about or neighbor/commute/etc (he also won't support moving with the agreement that I cam drive to be here for my mom). I'm so frustrated and tired of him being so unhappy and not willing to do the work to change things...moving isn't the answer to all your problems dude (we did this two years ago when we moves here) and it's not all about you (I would be isolated and starting over with a 5 month old). Ugh. Vent over :/
I've already cried twice today because M is crying almost nonstop and thrashing around. He is in pain from teething and not even the medicine helps. All he wants is daddy, who has to work. It breaks my heart to be so helpless. We have the TV on now even though that's a huge baby no-no. I had no other ideas and he loves TV. He is wimpering while cuddling
luv2rn4fun do you know why your H is so discontent and scattered these days? It seems like more than just the normal new baby transition.
@moonbeam- there is a lot of them but it's not that bad. Your neighbours are crazy.
luv2rn4fun- I'm so sorry you and your H are still hot and cold. Have you considered counseling? (I think you have mentioned this before but I can't remember.)
amaranth- as much as people say TV is bad for babies/children sometimes it's the only thing you can do for your sanity.
I've got 11 days of school left and my laziness is taking over. I sit during my lunch/prep and stare at my computer and then frantically get things ready 10 minutes before my kids walk in the door.
9 more school days here. Two of them are field trips, one is field day, one is graduation day and one is the day after graduation (last day is a full day for the first time ever this year). I've checked out for the summer already and so have my eighth graders.
Worked a half day. Just had he inspection of the new house and it's "almost perfect". Only concerns inspector noted were a torn window screen and the patio door seal has let condensation in . we're killing time at panera until our appt with the lawyer to sign closing papers then I'm off to do birthday dinner for my dad.
It felt like a Friday yesterday (went on a field trip) and with the half day today it again feels like a Friday. Why is it not Friday yet?
