swimwear when you're only kind of pregnant

I'm 12.5 weeks and my boobs do not fit in my current bikinis. Should I buy non maternity and size up the top? Or look for maternity now? I have a pool party this weekend and then a beach vacation in about a month, so I'd like to get 1 or 2 that can last me through at least a few months.

Also, I'm trying to decide if I need to get a tankini or something to cover my gut, because that's all it looks like right now. Any opinions welcome!

I just bought bigger tops (non-maternity) that match the bottoms I have. Is that an option for you?

I will be wearing a bikini this summer. It's what I wear the rest of the time and I'm not in the water enough to justify an entirely new swimsuit.

I bought new bikini tops (my boobs are out of control, lol). I don't think I'll get a maternity swimsuit.

I'm heavily pregnant now, so I went ahead and bought a maternity tankini (non-maternity doesn't fit me). and I'm not comfortable showing my bare belly in public.

in your case though, I'd probably just size up.

I plan to just size up in my top. My boobs are out of control, so I'm waiting until closer to my trip this summer to get one. I also bought a rash guard to wear over the bikini if I'm not feeling showing the belly off one day.

I would just size up in the bikini top. Maternity suits are terribly unflattering when you're early on.

I'm sort of jealous of boob growth. Mine are a little ... heavier? ... but my bras (and I'm sure swimsuits) all still fit. The boob fairy has not visited my A cups. WASN'T THAT SUPPOSED TO BE THE TRADEOFF FOR THE SHITTY STUFF?

For June-ish, I think I can still wear my regular tankinis, especially ones with longer tops. My belly is where I've done the growing. Late in the summer I'll need a maternity suit of some kind I think. I'm not going to try a regular bikini. I'm not so self conscious about the belly, but I have a very short torso and if I gain an ounce or two (DONE!) I get that crease/back roll look which is not cute.

Susie, mine haven't grown much either. I can still wear some of my bras (the ones that were probably too big to begin with). I've grown like 1 band size, no cup size.

I bought a target tankini a size up and wore that. It is one that has removable straps which I loved. I was 19 weeks on July 4th so wasn't huge over summer. I also got a skirt type bottoms from kohl's since I didn't want to wear bikini style.

I would just size up for now. I just bought a new bikini the day before yesterday because my butt goes up to medium while pregnant, and my bikini bottoms were getting too small. My boobs get bigger but not big enough where I need to size up during pregnancy.

I actually wore regular tankini tops last time until about 30 weeks.

And high waist bottoms that I think will get me through. I'll be 15 weeks on Memorial Day and 21 weeks on July 4. I think the top gives me some room because it doesn't fit tight to my stomach/waist

I have a non maternity tankini from pre pregnancy I got at "Just Add Water" and it fits and still has room for more belly.

I kept my current bottoms and just bought bigger tops for our upcoming trip. I got tops at target, I didn't want to spend a lot of $ since I have no idea what size my boobs will be next!

I went ahead and bought a maternity swimsuit since my stomach is not actually looking terribly good. I don't know if this is actually early, but I developed the linea nigra somewhere around 18 weeks (before I even really popped at all) and my belly is kind of fuzzy? We're just in the process of opening up our pool and if I'm in the backyard with just DH and I will wear my bikinis but I wanted something with more coverage for going to the cottage and being around people.

My boobs seemed huge around 8 - 16 weeks but then they kind of disappeared. I'm wearing my pre-pregnancy bras right now without an issue. I'm honestly hoping they come back for the end since I ordered a bridesmaid dress a couple of sizes up expecting mega boobs to be an issue. Hm.
