If you are at a cafe with an outdoor playspace that your kids are gravitating towards, do you sit outside where you can keep an eye on them or inside, perhaps near a window where you can probably see but not hear them? Kids are preschool-isn age (guessing).

Depends...if it's really crowded, I try to be in there to keep an eye on them, but if I have one finishing eating while the other is done, I might let them go in before us. If they are both in there playing, I try to be in there though. If we are the only ones there I might be more lax and just sit where I can see them inside.

Why? Are judging someone while eating your lunch?
No, coffee with a side of judgement. ;-)
No, not judging, just pondering. The boys were throwing rocks which DS then started doing, which is the only reason I noticed. And then I was trying to figure out if I would let DD play out there by herself. Because putting a wall between grown-up conversation and preschool antics sounds pretty sweet. But the rock throwing made me think I would want to be close enough to remind her not to do stuff like that.
Plus my best friend who I would usually text this random stuff to is teaching today, so you all got my random coffee thoughts.
Yeah see my drama queens would not be running around in that weather. Lol.
Well it's already 90 degrees here so that's just the way it is for the next 5 months. No way do stay inside all summer. Even our beaches are sweltering.

I suppose my kids would adapt if we lived in that climate but we don't. When it's over 90 unless we are in water or by it my kids have no interest being outside.

Does it really not get that hot there? Interesting. Even in MN most days in July and August are 90 or above (or at least it feels that way to me). The kids put on sunscreen, hats and go outside.
I would leave DD outside by herself. I can already tell I won't be able to leave DS outside by himself until he's like 17.
We definitely have days that top out over 90 but most days are not. Usually on really hot days we do the beach in the morning before the worst of the heat hits and find indoor stuff for later. Our yard has lots of trees so they will stay out for a little bit on hot days if I didn't do the sprinkler/water table. To go run around and play at a playground/play space on a hot day? Nope.
We also have like 100% humidity so the pool or beach is what saves us. Otherwise I'm sure we would stay in on the worst days, or at least hit up the museum or aquarium.
