I'm mannah. I've been lurking a bit on this board and wanted to say hi and join in. I have a one year old DD and we recently started TTC #2. We are in cycle 2, and I'm 3 DPO.
Random question-according to FF the day after O does not "count" as good BD timing, only the three days prior and day of. This doesn't make sense to me given that the egg can supposedly survive 12-24 hrs after ovulation. Does anyone know why O+1 wouldn't "count" then? Seems like the egg would still be viable at that point. Thanks for any insight!
I have no insight to your question as I don't look at that portion of FF. (I'm guessing you have the paid version) you can get pregnant by having sex the day after you O, so I have no idea what is with that but they do say 2-3 days before you have better odds.
I have seen them cite a statistic regards odds of getting pregnant on different days. The day after ovulation is not that frequent. You can ovulate anytime during the day. If you have a long lasting egg, have sex in the morning and the cm is still sperm friendly, then you could catch it. They say the best days are o-1 and o.
Hi and welcome! FF does O+1 in their timing analyzer, but does say that the chance is small for conception on that day. I'm not sure why. I always try to get the days leading up to and including O. I pretty much just keep going until I see the temp spike.
I think it's mostly due to a timing issue as you said. The egg is viable for only a short amount of time and it takes time for the sperm to travel to meet the egg. Your chances are greatly increased if the sperm is already there as the egg is released.
