Who else would he have access to? Who else would "forgive" him?
Page 11 of the police report linked above has the names of four victims redacted but doesn't redact the part where it says they lived at Jom Bob and Michelle Duggar's house.
I can't believe they continued the show knowing this was out there, pretending they were this perfect family with all these morals. And convincing the girls they should forgive him? Fucked up.
I feel so bad for the girls and also for his wife. She's pregnant and has 3 little kids and probably a family who is 100% not on board with divorce, so no support, no education, no job...

I feel bad for her in a different way - she's been raised/conditioned to defend her husband no matter what, so this won't affect their family in any meaningful way. They'll just keep bringing kids into the world.
I won't be watching anymore either. There had long been rumors of this but I hoped they were just rumors. Obviously not.
I feel terrible for their daughters. Victimized and never able to get real counseling. I wonder if this is why some of them were sent away to "Gothard brainwashing camp" multiple times, for not buying into the "forgive and forget" pressure from their parents.
I really think TLC will pull them after this, and I think People will stop featuring them as well. Ben may have to actually get a job since he won't have the show and People paying their rent! I wonder how Derrick is reacting to this, he grew up very differently than the Duggars. Ben is totally brainwashed by Jim Bob. It sounds like it was probably the 4-5 oldest girls based on the year that it happened.

I think we're kind of on the same page. I meant, I highly doubt she'll leave him. They were raised that divorce isn't an option so she has both no family support to leave and no education or means of her own to leave even if she wanted to.
This doesn't shock me. Josh has always struck me as....off.
I am afraid that they have made the girls feel as though this were there fault for some sin they committed. I mean, why else would they still interact with him?

On the cep thread someone posted a chart of how the religion deals with molestation. A LOT of victim blaming.
I just saw that. Fuck that shit. I want to light a lot of things on fire after reading that.

You know, I had heard rumors he had been sent to fundie boot camp b/c of "inappropriate touching" but assumed it was the Duggar's version of inappropriate, like front-hugging or something.
Now I wonder why Joseph (?) went to fundie boot camp.
From Defamer: Michelle Duggar admits in 2006 to police that Josh never saw a counselor, but was instead shipped off “to a family friend who was in the home remodeling business” in Little Rock, Ark.

I wonder what else they're hiding. Is this happening with other boys in the family too since all Josh got for repercussions was a little shaming (and presumably the girls got a lot)? How many girls have been molested? Sickening. You know it's a common theme in a lot of these sexually repressed families too.
Had it been mentioned that the statute of limitations is 3 years? 3 years?!?!
So the officer that Jim Bob initially reported this to. He is no longer in the force correct?
Have the Duggers or TLC made a statement about this yet??
I looked up the statute of limitations for AR. It's 6 years for rape, 3 years for sexual assault, but a minor victim has until the age of 28. I don't know why the last wouldn't apply in this instance. I am not a lawyer.
The Duggars response makes me sick. I wonder if he wife really knew about this before they got engaged.
My guess is she did not. But I know nothing about her really. Just seems like classic abuser behavior to hide it from everyone.
IDK, the person who emailed Harpo about it said that they asked Michelle about it and she told whoever this person was everything in front of Josh. It seems like they might have actually been relatively open about it.
If you're going to lie about being told something you probably don't name witnesses who were supposedly told at the same time, especially if those two people are your parents who have until this point been kept in the dark. Plus, her dad has a prison ministry so I can see him being of the confess your sins and be forgiven variety.
I'm not saying that I don't think the response isn't complete crap, just that I'm inclined to believe that part of it.
