The less expensive the better! Do they bleed through the paper too?
Not like Sharpies. But if the paper is thin enough you'll see it on the other side so two-sided pages are out. I have a couple coloring books with thin pages and you have to pick which side you want to color and which side will be ruined. :-)
I like to print my doodles on card stock and they don't bleed through.
Eta: The ink is like any other Crayola markers. These are just fine tipped in loooots of colors! :-)
I have a specific book in mind that I want to use markers on and the pages are double sided. I want to find something that doesn't ruin the book because I want to color the WHOLE thing.

Which book?
Unless the pages are THICK, I would bet almost any marker will show through thin enough pages.
I printed this from the googles and colored it at work the other day using the two highlighters that I have at my desk. And then I proudly hung it on my wall like a toddler.
I'm not a huge fan of the dover books though because they have prints on the front and back of a page so I cant use markers if I want to.
Yep, I'm switching from markers to pencils when I have more fun money for this reason. I have a costume book I'm dying to color, but I definitely would like to do all the pages.

You guys inspired me. I decided I would print one and mess with markers and pencils, to see what my Preferred Medium is (I didn't like using crayon). Then I accidentally did the whole thing in marker.
So...when you guys say "I'm working on this", how long does it take you to do one? Because I just sat and lost an hour and I'm growing concerned about myself.

I was just about to ask the same question! I was curious if it took so long for other people too. It takes me several hours over many days.
ETA: I binge watched the 1st season of Penny Dreadful while I colored my first one. It wasn't non-stop coloring, but it basically took roughly hours.

I am no good at this. How do you figure out what colors you want to use together? I have a thing of various colored pencils to use- yard sale for the win!

I don't know if you noticed, but in some of my pictures on the blank page I have lines of different colors. I just draw some different colored lines next to each other and see if they look good together.
