I don't swear. I was never a 'big' swearer, but when I was teaching I broke the habit completely. And my dh doesn't either. So yeah, my kids know that swear words exist, but they don't know what they are. The other day, ds came up to me and said 'mom, I'm sorry, I said the S word' and I said what was it, and he said 'stupid'. And while overall I think this is great, I also know that some day some kid who is much more world-wise than my sheltered little innocents is going to make fun of them SO bad.
And on that note, I am raising my kids in such a different way than I was raised (ie the sheltering, whereas I left to my own devices from a very early age and grew up fast) and sometimes I truly do worry that they aren't learning to be more self-sufficient early on.

I often worry about this too. My upbringing was quite different than that of my girls. I would say that their upbringing is more of what I thought I would want mine to be. I have always been a pretty independent person and attribute much of that to how I was raised (not necessarily a bad thing). But I look at DD1 versus what I was doing at her age and I scratch my head. I think we need a balance of in between, but I am having a hard time finding our way to it.
dS just ate green grapes and ice cream for dinner. It's been a long week.
I'm so tired I didn't want to make dinner so I've been letting DS snack all afternoon long so he won't be hungry. He's been eating shredded cheese, rice cakes and cereal. He just told me he's a snack monster.
I have another fashion one! I hate hi-lo skirts. I see girls walking down the hall in them, and it looks like their knees are wearing a cape.
Which, when I see it written out like that is actually a little empowering. My legs are superheroes! Suck it haters!
Nevermind.
You are hilarious. We need a play date soon!
I am not done with work until the 10th! THen I have dentist on the 11th, and daycare still on the 12th. I have kids M, T, F all summer then! June 15? Toddler tuesday on the 16th?
Confession #1 we are having our annual family reunion this weekend and I am really excited about being able to drink as much as I want to since I stopped nursing a few weeks ago. I'm going big tonight!
Confession #2 I am letting H sleep in this morning so I can sleep in tomorrow. I plan on reminding him about thus tonight if I think he's drinking too much to do thar
