OK so what do I need in my hospital bag?

What else, specific to birthin' babies/hospital stays?

Also- I haven't used pads since I had Lucy- any recommendations? I hate hate hate wings fwiw.

The baby is trying to exit through my belly button, which is why I ask. Jesus, dude, a few more weeks.

Oh, and I brought a power strip. Between phones and computers and iPad, it was nice to not fight over the one outlet we had access to.

I would bring your own pillow with a nice soft case and a plush bath towel. Hospital pillows are pathetic and the towels are like sandpaper. I personally found my Boppy nursing pillow useful. Fuzzy socks.

I hate pads with wings too but they were a necessity those first few days.

Always Infinity with Flex Foam have worked great for me. Though, I stayed in the jumbo hospital ones for a few days.

I wore the hospital gowns the whole time, and was fine. Remember shoes for the shower. Very little mattered to me, but I did feel kinda weird about being on the hospital floor w/o some flip flops.

If you have a white noise machine bring that. Night two we could hear the baby next door crying all night, and I think a sound machine would have blocked that out.

chapstick & lotion. A pillow from home. a pair of slipper socks (my room was always cold - both times). something to go home in (and unless you are a movie star or royalty you'll probably want something stretchy & still maternity). Get some granny panties that you don't care if you stain - above the bikini line just in case you need a c section (you don't want the band rubbing on the incision).

FOOD - some sort of good food for after you have the baby. Either pack it, or plan on someone bringing it right after you have him, because holy crap, the first 24 hours after birth I was freaking STARVING. Esp at night. Make and freeze some banana bread, zucchini bread, or something, put it in the bag when you leave, and then eat it at night when you're up to feed him. Not even joking.

The Overnight Extra Heavy Flow have wings but are the longest damn pads I've ever seen. I'm a bad leaker in my sleep and these changed ma life.
